The product was in mint condition and sent very safely and quickly. The Seller is so helpful and sent a second CD for my interest for free! I recommend buying from him. Love the music (and film).

A Little Disappointing,

Yes, it is a good soundtrack, but a little adjustment could have made it even better. Why Tiny Dancer? I can hear this tune almost every day on any easy rock station. With that space freed up you could put in the Rain Song and Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. Now that would be a even better soundtrack.

Excellent s/track - and the new song Fever Dog sounded like a song from the era. I'm also wondering about the acoustic song they played when William sent Penny off at the airport. Another song that I've failed to identify is the one they played in the Cleveland concert - they started with Love Thing - then Russell played a solo to the song - and then they ended the concert with You Had to Be There. Can anyone tell me the title to the 2nd song pls? Thnks!!

Song playing when they talk of going to Morroco,
By "keiferr" (Navarre, FL United States) - See all my reviews

I was wondering if anyone knows what the song is that plays twice during the movie. Once when William and Penny talk about going to Morroco, then when Penny gets on the plane in New York. Thanks bigtime if you figure it out and tell me.

Absolutely fabulous music,

I purchase soundtracks to capture the mood of a time, and this is one that absolutely embraces what it was like to be a teenager during the 1970s -- I was one myself. With the exception of a couple of songs I could do without (Todd Rundgrens' It Wouldn't Have Made A Difference and perhaps the Beach Boys' Feel Flows, which feels more like late '60s than '70s), I wouldn't have changed a thing. All the songs are timeless. I had forgotten how moved I was hearing Cat Stevens' The Wind for the first time.

I'll keep this short, though I could pontificate for hours on "Almost Famous".No adjective can describe how much this film moved me. I'd seen it in the theaters four times. I don't ordinarily do things like that. That said, it has become my favorite. The soundtrack mirrors both the previous sentiment and the time period in represents. The fact that no Beatles, Stones, or God forbid, Grateful Dead show up on the soundtrack has nothing to do with the time period, but rather what the protagonist was listening to at the time. Just dumping a bunch of "Classic Rock" tunes onto the soundtrack with little, if any, regard for the characters, plot, and general tone of the movie would be a great disservice to both film and the audience. Watch the movie again... This soundtrack is a must have, as is the DVD. |
