First of all, this is a great movie. If you haven't seen the movie, you're in luck. After not making the video for several years, it's out on DVD! If you have seen it, you know how good the move is. You have to agree the music is the best part. This soundtrack has all the songs. I tend to play Carrying the Banner and King of New York over and over.

If you like the movie, I highly recommend this CD.

I grew up watching Newsies almost every day, and the then some. Already able to sing the songs without watching the movie, as well as knowing the whole movie word for word, it was a great day when my family bought the soundtrack. Now we can blast Newsies on our stereos and not have to worry about hearing each other sing it offkey!

I've loved this movie since first seeing it in eighth grade. The music has always sent shivers down my spine, and the soundtrack delivers. My one small complaint with it is that the songs with dialogue in them don't have that, so there are patches of just music. However, this music is great so it dosn't bother me too much. I'm listening to "The World Will Know" right now, and can honestly say that this soundtrack is a must-have for any Newsies lover.

This soundtrack has all the songs that was in the musical/drama Newsies. They are composed by Alan Menken and it's really good! However, after watching the movie "Newsies" so many times, and listening to it every day, this is not my favorite CD. I still enjoy listening to it now and then though.
My favorite songs are "Seize the Day," "Carryn' da Banner," and "Seize the Day (Chorale)." Of course, I like all the other songs too, but those are my favorite. If you really liked the movie "Newsies," I'm sure you'll love the Newsies soundtrack.

I love the movie Newsies, but my favorite element of it is the music. Representing Disney music at its best, the songs are upbeat and have great lyrics and music. From great group songs to individual ballads, the CD just makes you smile. The vocalists are super-talented young men from the movie. I also highly recommend the movie, which is FABULOUS!

Unlike most movies the actors actually sang these songs. The music is wonderful!!! I am pretty picky about music (like Avril...SHE CAN'T SING FOR HER LIFE!),BUT NEWSIES IS THE BEST!

This is the ultimate gift for any Newsies fan. I got it for my sister (who is obsessed with Christian Bale) for Xmas and she couldnt get enough of it. The only problem is if you have a newsies fan, get used to hearing the same songs over and over again. The songs are great and inspirational, plus they have great lyrics and a nice upbeat. Even if you hate the movie (as is with most adults and teenaged boys in my family) the soundtrack is still nice because the songs arent really "classical" themed like on Sound of Music.

I just saw this movie in my chior class and IT WAS AWSOME!!!!!my friendsdon't know that I liked it (I 'm trying to keep a rep' of being a punk) but there were some parts I loved and hated .the one part I hated was when Sarah sang at the end , my god that could have been a good song but noo they had to let her sing . My favorite song in "the world will know" I think that's what it's called . hope my review was of use to anybody ,

So, I love this movie. I mean come on, young men singing and dancing in the streets. Really, who could ask for more? My only regret is that they are to young for me. *Sigh* It's the singing I love, really. The songs are actually really amazing, brings back memories of when Disney was worth listening to. The Newsies is by far wonderful, the talent is outstanding, where are most of these boys now? Why aren't they all still around? If you buy this soundtrack you won't regret it. Also, for any teachers out there, while yes a musical, the movie as well as the songs would fit into a class learning about turn of the century America pretty well. The fact that it is younger kids will allow for the students to connect with the chracters much better then with adults. The songs are very uplifting, but still paint an accurate depiction of what life was like for children back then. Also, it really happened! So, yeah, buy it already.
