3.0 out of 5 stars Great movie, but no suprises.
I recently purchased this movie on Pay-Per-View, and it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was how you could see what was going to happen next. A good movie for kids.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy it for the title track!, Sep 18 2003

Sweet film. My kids loved it, my 5 year old hasn't stopped talking about the baboon's pink bottom 2 weeks and counting after!

But for all u music fiends and especially all u Paul Simon fans. Buy this DVD for the title track, which is performed end to end by the MAN himself, as an extra on the DVD.

A stunningly simple and yet so brilliant Paul Simon tune about a father's love for his daughter, that I am now single mindedly practicing on the guitar, to be able to sing to my lil girl on Christmas Eve!

Enjoy!

THE WILD THORNBERRY'S MOVIE is a great animated film that the whole family will enjoy. The script is well-written and includes a couple of surprises. The music is rocking and one of the songs that Paul Simon wrote for the picture was nominated for an Academy Award. There really isn't anything very scary in the film and even if you've never seen an episode of the television show, the movie is easy to follow and enjoy. Great family entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elisa's greatest adventure, April 21 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Wild Thornberrys Movie (Widescreen) (DVD)
This is an exciting adventure about Elisa, a young girl who has the power to talk to animals. I think this is a great movie because she is just like me and I wish I could be just like her. I wish I could talk to animals and go all around the world seeing animals. Some parts of this movie are a bit scary for younger children, but it's great for kids 6 and older. I love the scenery of Africa. Debbie is really funny in this movie, even though she's a little snobby. I recommend this movie for anyone who loves animals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where's Oscar?, April 18 2003

...I love watching the series with my daughter and expected the same excellent quality in the movie. I was not prepared to have my expectations surpassed to such an extreme. Not only was the animation of such quality to put some of the films that Disney has released to the big screen in recent years to shame (Return To Neverland? What were they thinking?), but the story was rich and filled with such heart that I was brought to tears (how could I not be, hearing Paul Simon's excellent song as I watched the film with my daughter?). When speaking of animation, I for one will speak of Klasky-Csupo in the same reverence as I speak of Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Hayao Miyazaki, and Katsuhiro Otomo. My eye is now firmly fixed on Klasky-Csupo (pronounced: class-key, chew-po).

Others here have written fine synopses of the film so I'll just mention this: Many a hero has won the day with help from "magic" and while Eliza has a magical ability to speak to animals, she loses it when it would be most useful and it's her love, intelligence, and bravery that proves to be her greatest virtues. A great movie for any kid and their parents.

5.0 out of 5 stars We Are Huge Fans, Mar 30 2003

My, now 6 year old, grandaughter and I have been devoted fans of The Wild Thornberrys for as long as they have been on Nickelodian so when we found out the Movie was coming out, I just knew it would be a wonderful Holiday treat for us. We went to an afternoon showing, shared popcorn and soda and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. I find it very entertaining personally and I love the message that weaves through each TV segment and which was very evident throughout the movie about protecting the animals. My grandaughter even calls me up to remind me when it's on and I plan to purchase the video for her (to share with me of course)! for an Easter basket gift. Hoorah for the entire production company, and my only request, PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL SOON!!!!!
