Bad Reviews...?,
By Akasha (Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Adema (Audio CD)
Well, what i've noticed is that most people who've rated this CD are basically Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park lovers. I think this CD is very awesome and deserves a better rating. The lyrics are somewhat deep and very emotional. There's not as "nu-metal" as the other poser bands, which makes them very unique. Not really as heavy as i'd like them to be but they are an exceptional band. Please don't bad mouth this band because they're not as rap and terrible as you'd like them to be.

They need to work on their lyrics and be a bit more heavier on some songs that try to be heavy but fail . easy listening though . Whats with the label Nu-Metal , who created that name and why ? i didnt hear of it before 1999 . was this created by teenie boppers or something . stop labeling crap teenies....

Adema's Debut,
By RJ Bates (Denton, TX) - See all my reviews

When this CD was first released I bought because of the single The Way You Like It. After listening to the whole album though there music is so diverse and complex. Adema has very good vocals in front of very tight guitar riffs. Kris Kohls is an amazing drummer and he proves it once again on this CD. I would recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys listening to good hard rock. Stand out tracks on the album are Giving In, The Way You Like It, Drowning.

Adema has been the center of massive amounts of attention due to band frontman Marky Chavez being half-brother to Korn singer Jonathan Davis. With this relationship in place, the music community was expecting Adema to sound like a younger version of Korn. They were in fact, not that far off.Marky's vocals have been closely modeled after his kin in his twisted scratchy screams and growls. The rest of the band's sound is very similiar to that of Korn, but slightly more alternative. The best example of the similarities between the two bands is best demonstrated on the track "Pain Inside" which for months was assumed to be a track off Korn's upcoming album before it was revealed to infact not be Korn at all but rather, Adema. The primary difference between the two bands is Adema's willingness to slow things down and create songs that are softer and more emotional in nature, specifically on the track "Speculum". All of these similarities pointed out, Adema's debut release still stands well on it's own and is worth several listens whether you are a fan of Korn's works or not. The album does however have depreciating value as each time you listen to it, it becomes increasingly less impressive. Never-the-less the first 4 or 5 trips through is a good ride, there just isn't anything original to hold you around for too long.

This is such a good cd, and ive had mine ever since it ever first came out and now it skips and stuff, and neone who says that its a waste of money sucks cause this album is definately NOT a waste of money, its awesome!1. everyone- this is an ok song not one of my favorites cause its number one, but its ok so as you can see, this album rules! and if youve never heard adema, who knows you could like them! cause they rule!! but this album is WAY better than their second album... even though its harder, it has too many slow songs, so get this album before you get the second one, if you decide to try one really awesome band!

All I like on this cd is "giving in." I'm sure everyone recognizes that single. The rest of it sounds just like your typical rock-radio-station filler. If you like what's playing on the radio today, you'll like this cd. If you don't, well... you're like me. Thank god I borrowed this and didn't waste my money on it.
