4.0 out of 5 stars All Killer, No Filler
This album shows a lot of talent, mized with many good tunes. However, I was slightly dissapointed with the length of some of the songs. They seemed too short, for the amount of money payed. Overall though, it was still worth purchasing.

i like sum 41, but this CD gets old after a while. it may have some good stuff like fat lip, in too deep, and nothing on my back, but "does this look infected" is much better.

Punk rawk? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...
Go back to watching MTV children, this is as safe as Barney. Ain't no punk rock here folks just corporate radio friendly pop shlock. How does it feel when your culture is entirely spoon fed to you by corporate interests? Nice safe rebellion.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just your average MTV pop-rock, Jun 30 2004
This review is from: All Killer No Filler (Audio CD)
There's nothing special about his album at all. It just sounds like every other pop-"punk" band out there. The guitar, bass, drums, and singing are all quite simple. Sure, some of the songs are catchy but it doesn't take long to get sick of them. However, I will rate the songs.

Intro - I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be "copying" the intro from Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast. I'm not 100% sure on that, though.

Nothing on My Back - Catchy tune, but loses my interest after a while. 6/10

Never Wake Up - WAY too short. Nothing specail about this song at all. 3/10

Fat Lip - This is the hit song from the album. It's actually not that bad. I don't understand the statement "Maiden and Priest were the Gods that we praised". If they were so big into Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, then why does their music suck so much more? 8/10

Rythms - Kind of boring. 5/10

Motivation - Catchy, but gets old really fast. 6/10

In too deep - Worst song on the cd. WAY too poppy and annoying. 2/10

Summer - Decent song. They seemed to do a better job with their instruments and vocals on this song. 7/10

Handle This - Alright, but gets on my nerves. Sounds too "emotional". 5/10

Crazy Amanda Bunkface - Faster than some of the previous songs, but not that much better. 6/10

All She's Got - This song is fast like the previous track, but not as good. 4/10

Heart Attack - Alright song writing, just not my style of music at all. 6/10

Pain for Pleasure - The music sounds a lot like Iron Maiden, with the dueling lead guitars and the galloping beat, but the singing doesn't sound like Maiden at all. Obviously the music isn't near as complex as Maiden.

I would recommend that you save your money and buy some REAL music, like Dio, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, or Judas Priest

1.0 out of 5 stars Sum 41 is plague upon all music......., Jun 20 2004
This review is from: All Killer No Filler (Audio CD)
This album wouldn't irritate quite as much as it does now if it didn't seem like everybody but me enjoyes it. Not only are they unoriginal, the lyrics and versitality have reached an all time low. Sum 41 sings to pleasant pop tunes that they like making fun of people, they don't want to wake up, they have no motivation, and they are mad at their parents for making them do homework. This is good music for all the early teenagers who are in "rebellion" against their parents...Furthermore this album is about 40 minutes long.....all the songs sound the same and the longest song is 3:02 minutes and there is nary a guitar solo in the entire Cd. Oh Well....I'm sure that they will fade into obscurity within the decade.

Anyways...I'm not a complete pop-punk hater...the self titled Blink 182 album wasn't that bad.

5.0 out of 5 stars To All Punk Fans: This is a great album, Jun 18 2004

From the gripping introduction through to the oustanding conclusion, All Killer No Filler is an spectacular Album. Of course, radio hits "In Too Deep", "Fat Lip", and "Motivation" are catchy, but several non-radio songs blew me away! Heart Attack starts slow but really kicks it into another gear when it hits the head bobbin chorus. My favorite song on the CD has to be the slowed-down "Handle This". It is incredibly catchy, easy-going, and just downright a solid listen. The album is true to its name, no filler, unless you're not a punk fan, but if you aren't, why would you even care enough to write a bad review about this album?

This album is truly goofy. Sometimes to annoying extent. That is why it falls two stars short of what it could have been. On Pain For Pleasure, the band takes an ill-advised attempt at death metal, which they are not cut out for. Some of the songs are cool, but WAY juvenile, like Fat Lip, which, suprisingly gives reference to the heavy metal greats Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. But the songs are still fun, and sometimes good and catchy, but this is a little juvenile, and goofy, so if you don't go for that, this isn't a best bet for ya.

This band is a talented group. I enjoy listening to their style, cool and conveinent. If this band were to come to my city, I would buy their tickets in an instant(even if the tickets were $300). I love this band and cant wait for their next album.

Really Sum 41, what have you done? when are you ever going to stop complaining about your mommies making you do your homework. Since when is it in style to be immature? The only good song on this album is Never Wake Up because there's less than a minute of torture. Plus, i wouldn't be so frustrated if thier fans would admit that Sum 41 is pop. Also, the cover is the stupidest cover i have ever seen. Enough of the hardcore crap. Saying that you are lazy ( MOTIVATION IS SUCH AN AGGRAVATION) does not make you rebellious in any way. Neither is saying that you enjoy amking fun of people ( CAUSE WE LIKE HAVING FUN AT OTHER PEOPLES EXPENSES) make you seem angry with the constraints of society. By the way, don't accuse of not hearing the CD. I own the monstrocity. Finally All Killer, No Filler isn't even an original name- it's the title of an old Jerry Lewis album.
