This review is from: Jeepers Creepers (Widescreen/Full Screen) (DVD)
On a desolated country highway Darry (Justin Long) and his sister Trish (Gina Philips) are nearly run off the road by The Creeper (Jonathan Breck) in an old beat up truck.

Later they spot The Creeper and see what appears to be a body wrapped in a sheet being thrown down a sewer pipe.

Darry insists that they check it out.

At the bottom of the sewer Darry finds hundreds of dead bodies.

Darry and Trish now become targets of an evil far more unspeakable and unstoppable than they ever imagined.

Rest of the cast includes Patricia Belcher and Eileen Brennan.

When I first saw the previews for Jeepers Creepers I thought the movie looked terrible and the tagline what's eating you? Didn't help matters much.

With nothing to do one night I gave Jeepers Creepers a chance with rather low expectations.

It got off to a fast start and pretty much never let up, it was full of suspense and jolts.

The biggest complaint I hear about Jeepers Creepers, is when we find out who and what the Creeper is.

I do agree that it did hurt the movie a bit. Even when we find out the Creeper is some supernatural demon I was fine with that.

But once he started sprouting wings and when we get a good look at The Creeper that hurt the movie.

The first half of the movie, The Creeper was kept hidden we didn't really see much of him and that worked.

Still with that said Writer/Director Victor Salva does a great job.

The movie was well written and his directing was right on the money.

Salva showed great potential as horror filmmaker, but dropped the ball with Jeepers Creepers 2.

Justin Long and Gina Philips both give great performances.

Despite the 2nd half of Jeepers Creepers, it's still a fun movie that delivers the goods.

4.0 out of 5 stars True Horror Movie, Oct 12 2006

I say that this is a true horror movie because, well, it is. Its original and has a story. The first time I watched it, tell you the truth, I was scared. Nebraska by the way is home to a lot of corn fields and abandoned churches like the one in this movie. A definite movie to own in your collection. Please boast that you have this one, it is something to be proud to own. You wont know how to classify this one, whether it's about a serial killer, or just about demons! Bring plenty of blankets, drinks, and snack food to the couch. Dont forget the gal or guy! Keep the axe in the tool shed under lock and key!!!

When I first watched this movie I didn't know what to expect. I'll start off by giving you a bit of what the story is about.
The movie starts off with a brother and sister driving home from College for spring break. They are taking some desirted highway which is also the long way home. In the car they are playing game with the license plates they see becuase the are obviously bored. Then up behind them comes this speeding beated up truck. It keeps on trying to hit them and then finally it passes. Darry and his sister think nothing of it, until they pass by a boarded up church and see the creeper shoving something down a sewer pipe. They drive by and the creeper comes with his truck and rear-ends them again. Darry and his sister decide to turn back and investigate. Darry falls down the sewer pipe which leads to the church basement. In there he finds hundreds of bodies that are plastered up on the wall. Eventually they leave to find help. When they get it they get it they are told that the church is burning down. From there on in the movie becomes a little boring, all though it has an interesting ending.

1.0 out of 5 stars I give this movie -20 stars, July 19 2004
This review is from: Jeepers Creepers (Widescreen/Full Screen) (DVD)
This is the worst, most unoriginal movie ever. Terrible acting. Terrible plot. Monster as scary as Mickey Mouse. I like horro movies. I like even terrible horror movies. This movie is its own genre of dung. Save a few hours of your life and watch something else. Anyone who likes this movie is a nerd and don't listen to their advice to watch it.

One of the worst movies of all time. The acting sucks, the plot sucks, the monster looks just stupid, the 2 kids acting were almost as bad as the movie. What sane person is gonna see somebody throw a body down a pipe covered up and tied up and then go look whats going on. C'mon thats just stupid nobody in this world would do that. Save your time, money, sanity, and self respect dont watch this stupid sh*t Its one of the worse movies ever made

3.0 out of 5 stars jeepers creepers, July 8 2004
This review is from: Jeepers Creepers (VHS Tape)
this has all the ingreients of a low budget horror film.there are dumb kids,a mysterious monster that wont die, hick cops, unanswered questions, rednecks who stare when hysterical girls scream in terror, old crazy chicks with cats,a seer........you get the idea.low budget =not enough cash to hire a real star.this film will scar youre kids for life.dont let them watch it!they made a really crappy sequel, but this ones good.most people will like it once.if you like the type of movie, its good again and again.there are a few nasty parts but they are quick not to terribly awful.the chicks are all toothless and clueless rednecks and none of them get naked.it is better than the reviews and you should see it.since part 2 sucks so bad i hope a 3 never-AND I MEAN EVER-surfaces.

4.0 out of 5 stars It takes a few times to watch before the monster gets scary, July 2 2004

This is a movie you should watch at least twice. Not even because you will be dying to watch it again immidiately, but because you'll need to prepare for what is to come.
The filmmakers did their best effort not to reveal at first what kind of creature we're dealing with. So you start watching a very creepy beginning, in all daylight, not knowing what's chasing the siblings. It has a lot of suspence and in the first half an hour, it will creep you out. At this point you'll think you're dealing with a murderer, but then, surprise, it suddely turns out to be a monster!

That was the filmmakers' surprise. but i don't think that was the right appraoch. After being creeped out for half the movie, it is just a terrible dissapointment to see the monsters face, and it will ruin the rest of the movie.

Then watch it again, and you'll see: if you know you're about to watch a monster movie, and you know what the monster looks like, you can value the rest of the atmosphere, and will notice there is still a lot of suspence left.

I think this is one of the best horror movies made lately, and evrybody should give it a chance.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME ENDING! Worth viewing on the strength of the ending., Jun 20 2004

This review is from: Jeepers Creepers (Widescreen/Full Screen) (DVD)
This movie is certainly not ground-breaking (though it could have been). Like many others have commented, it loses steam mid-way through (after the kids leave the church). HOWEVER, if you can look past some of the lame 2nd half moments...the last 2-3 minutes of the movie is pure cinematic glory.

Ignore all the negative reviews. Must be by folks requiring the obligatory "happy" ending.
