5.0 out of 5 stars awesome music!!
I am usually not the kind who'd write reviews, but in this case I just had to spread the joy. It is a great compilation, I love every track on this album..the diversity is amazing. A true must have for an eclectic music fan.

3.0 out of 5 stars What is the name of that song?
It's killing me! What is the name of that song that is playing when he's in the empty Times Square? The one that sounds like a mandolin playing with the funky beat?

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it - even if it is missing the most important song, May 30 2004

Tara Sweeney (Oakville, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews

I love the soundtrack, but must admit I bought it
for one song, the one where he is on the roof with
Sophia, and the one that is playing as he falls from the roof.
I did find the name of it, though. It is "Ladies and Gentlemen
we are floating in space" by Spiritualized. Album with the
same title. I am surprised how much I like the Cameron Diaz
song and have fallen in love with the Red House Painters and
"Have you Forgotten". I find I am now obsessed with the Soundtrack as much as the movie.
For some reason, that movie has really stayed with me.
I pretty much know it word for word now.

4.0 out of 5 stars My thoughts, Dec 10 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Vanilla Sky (Audio CD)
I've never written a review and probably will never again but I couldn't hold back regarding this movie & cd. I cannot express how much I loved Vanilla Sky. I have watched it so many times it's sickening to some people. But every time I watch it it's like watching it for the first time. I don't understand why it didn't get great reviews. Maybe some critics can't handle watching a movie that actually makes them think. Anyway, I bought the soundtrack and I do agree with another customer in that when you listen to the songs they bring you right back to the scene. The only thing I was disappointed in with this cd is that not all of the songs were on it that were in the movie. I really wanted the song that played when David is first walking through the club with the mask. I also wanted the song on the roof before he talks to Sophia. Oh well. Regardless, I do like all the other songs on this soundtrack and if you liked the movie you will like the cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Atmospheric, Nov 6 2003

Wow. Talk about atmospheric music! Excellent diversity. Awesome usage of FREUR and SIGUR ROS in their respective scenes. If it were up to me to score this film, I would have made very, VERY few changes. Almost a perfect use of music for each scene. I REALLY liked the movie but truly LOVED the soundtrack. This is a great CD to either take a drive to or wash dishes to.

5.0 out of 5 stars great buy!, Jun 11 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Vanilla Sky (Audio CD)
This has easily become my #1 soundtrack of choice. The diversity of music that's on this album is wonderful and each song so prefectly represents a moment in the film. Everytime I listen to it, I travel back to a particular scene and feel as if I'm a part of the story. These songs have the ability to do that. Vanilla Sky is by far one of the greatest movies of all time.

There are only two reasons why I like this soundtrack: Paul McCartney and the Monkees. That is all...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good compilation of movie tunes, April 30 2003
This review is from: Vanilla Sky (Audio CD)
Though it misses some of the more entertaining songs from the film (especially the dance mixes while David is clubbing) this cd is a pretty decent compilation of movie tunes. If you enjoyed the film, you probably recall that one of the most powerful parts of it was the music. This cd won't disappoint you as it pretty well includes the best, including the old Todd Rundgren tune and the title track, Vanilla Sky by McCartney.
