Arnie as a clone?great concept,great movie,
By
This review is from: The 6th Day (Special Edition) (DVD)
Arnold Schwarzenegger play Adam Gibson,an average man in the not toodistant future.Well, there is one tiny difference.Adam has been cloned. The company that cloned him wants him dead,so they can erase the evidence.so,while Adam's clone takes over his life,Adam must find a way to get his life back, all the while trying to avoid being killed by the corporation.that's the gist of the story.there are bigger(much bigger things going on here and we'll live it at that.if you want to know more, you will have to watch the movie.Wendy Crewson plays Adam/fake Adam's wife.Michael Rapaport and Sarah Wynter, among others, play supporting roles.the film obviously brings up ethical and moral issues involved in cloning, and the fact that it is set in the not too distant future, may be a trifle settling.all that aside this is one of Arnie's better films.obviously, there's a bit more substance involved, and Arnie is quite convincing in the role off Adam.but don't despair, action buffs, there is a lot of that too.and of course people get shot and killed(it wouldn't be an Arnie movie without).this movie gets an 4/5

"Total Recall" meets "I Robots" meet family friendly viewing,
This review is from: The 6th Day (DVD)
Contrary to a lot of people's beliefs, this movie is not a rip on Total Recall, just merely along the same lines of internal conflict. People who have recently seen the outstanding "I Robot" will no doubt see where some of the inspiration came. Just as Will Smith is wary of the robots, Schwarzneggar's Adam character is wary of a pet-cloning company called RePet. The plot goes that the president of the most powerful cloning company is assasinated by anti-cloning radicals in a helicopter with Adam's friend, who was identified to be Adam. Because of this, the President and Adam are both cloned and Adam comes home to find his clone celebrating his own birthday through the window. Arnie then goes on a hunt to track down the cloning operation and get to the bottom of the huge mess that has been thrust into his life.Like "I Robot", the movie has a great amount of twists and turns, and like "Total Recall", Arnold wonders who he is (6th day- Am I a clone? Total Recall - is this real, or just part of the Recall program?) The movie is also fairly family friendly (save for a few violent but bloodless/suggestive scenes) and is PG-13, an absolute rarity for an Arnold action movie, especially considering the graphic and gratuitous violence of "Total Recall". Arnold also plays an average joe, not a killing maching like in "Commando", which is refreshing. Having said all that, this is a great rental movie for average viewers, and if you liked "I Robot" or "Total Recall" (or love Ah-nuld, hey, who doesn't? :-) then this is well worth the price of admission.

I thought this movie was stupid when it first camem out. Who wouldn't, its about Arnie getting cloned. But after seeing it, I realised I was wrong. This movie is cool. Its about arnie being hunted down by assasins becuz he found out they clone people. The assasins must kill him so no one else will find out. This is cool for all sci-fi/action fans. Its not arnies best but it is still good.

I really enjoyed this movie after I watched it again. I remember seeing it a long time ago and hating it. I don't see what makes people hate this movie so much. The characters are nice. Arnold is really cool and is a great guy. You will probably like the cast. The badguy does a good job. He is evil. Arnold is pretty cool. The action does a fair job of being fast-paced. I enjoyed it. Enjoyable. Thats how I would describe this movie. Very Enjoyable.

Arnold, the govenor has gone threw it all, from fighting the devil, to being the terminator and conan the destroyer but this time he faces the evil clones that Robert Duvall and Tony Goldwyn make. good action with some funny scenes involving two Arnolds at the same time. this clone movie is a notch better than Attack of the clones, which Arnold would of layed the smack down on their asses.

The 6th Day is great. The plot is intriguing. Adam ? (Arnold Schwrzeneger) is a family man. His birthday is suppose to be joyful until his dog dies. His wife wants him to go and get the dog cloned, but he objects. When he comes home from work, he realizes the family is singing happy birthday when he's not there! Inside is his clone, and along with his wife, daughter, and cloned dog!!! This is a great movie to rent for a Saturday night with twists and turns as well as tons of action. Check it out!

I know cloning humans stupid but this film is awesome. Arnold once again delivers a good action movie. He is Adam, a man who was cloned by mistake when a company thought he was someone else. Now the company who cloned him must kill him to hide the evidence. This movie is awesome, filled with gun battles, car chases, and intense helicpter scenes. It's great!

How refreshing it is to see a sci-fi film actually taking the science behind it seriously. Aside from seeing how the future might look (I kept thinking of those AT&T commercials from the 80's only to realize most of the stuff in that commercial is available now) I think there were some interesting thoughts on the subject of cloning. If we could stop the world from going hungry from cloning fish and other livestock and replace organs that have failed, where do we draw the line on cloning? This was a good film that was slighted more than was necessary. |
