It seems to work. It clicks to let you know when it is pumped enough. I also use it for liqueur bottles.

I'm using this for wine making. I adapted the stopper into a carboy bung and use it to pull the gas from the wine after I agitate it with a fizz-x in the carboy. Only had it in use for about a week so I can't speak to the longevity of the product but it seems to be working great so far.

I needed something to cap the bottles so the wine would not go flat. This wine saver has worked great and it includes enough caps that I can use it for more than one bottle. Useful gadget.

I have used other vaccum sealers - I really like this one! It is light weight with a a curve in the handle making it easier to grip (right or left handed) and the double click telling you you are done is great.

I've been a big fan of Vacu Vin for years. I needed to purchase new stoppers for my older model Vacu Vin, and saw this newer model with the "popping" sound to indicate when you can stop pumping air. This model far exceeds the older model - it is wonderful! It is so much easier to pump, and I have had no problems with wine gone bad. I'd highly recommend replacing your older Vacu Vin with this one.

I wish I had this years ago. Reasonably priced product that really works! Just be sure to listen for the "crackling" sound which tells you all the air has been removed from the bottle. It works whether the bottle is half full or only a quarter full. I would recommend it highly. Marg

Whenever you don't want to finish a bottle of wine, and save it for the next day, don't just push the cork back in. The entrapped oxygen in the bottle will quickly turn the wine to vinegar. With the vacuum pump, you can remove much of the air, and the wine will stay drinkable for 24 hours, or even longer, if you keep it in a cool place. It really works. TFS, 2 June 2011.

We had been trying, in vain, to save good red wine by putting the original cork back in as tightly as we could - only to find the wine a poor imitation of it's former self the next night. With this Vacu Vin Wine Saver, we are able to enjoy the same good wine night after night for the better part of a week. Love it!
