5.0 out of 5 stars Me? I'm satisfied.
Very few soundtracks anymore actually match and capture the content and the atmosphere of the movie it was made for, but the Queen of the Damned soundtrack stays true to the movie. 3.0 out of 5 stars KoRn, making Gothic music? This has GOT to be a joke!
Sadly, its not. Don't get me wrong, I love Gothic music. KoRn however can not write Gothic music. They're much better slamming their guitars and screaming like mindless frat boys. The funny thing is, the other bands singing his material
(Static-X, Disturbed) sound a million times better than his own voice! The soundtrack alone ruined this movie. Im not going to...

5.0 out of 5 stars Me? I'm satisfied., Feb 26 2002
This review is from: Queen of the Damned (Audio CD)
Very few soundtracks anymore actually match and capture the content and the atmosphere of the movie it was made for, but the Queen of the Damned soundtrack stays true to the movie. As we all know, Jonathan Davis (Korn) and Richard Gibbs wrote and composed 5 of the songs on here, but due to legal issues with Korn's label, Epic, Jonathan's vocals could only appear in the movie, but not on the soundtrack. Five well known vocalists were brought in to sing these songs instead. The songs are: 'Not Meant For Me' sung by Wayne from Static-X, 'Forsaken' sung by David from Disturbed (My personal favorite song on here), 'System' sung by Chester from Linkin Park, 'Redeemer' sung by Marilyn Manson himself, and 'Slept So Long' sung by Jay from Orgy. A few of the songs feature Head & Munky from Korn on guitars and Sam Rivers from Limp Bizkit on bass, but other than those few songs, Jonathan handles all the bass, guitar and some drum work. These five songs are undeniably the highlight of the album. As I said before, 'Forsaken' is my favorite out of the whole CD, and I think many will agree with me that it is the best. 'Redeemer' was very cool, and I don't even like Marilyn Manson. The rest of the songs on here are previously released tracks, but it is good to see them here because they fit the movie so well. Static-X contribute their new single "Cold," Disturbed have the infamous "Down With The Sickness," and of course, like so many other soundtracks/compilations out there, Deftones' "Change (In the House of Flies)" is included. I have lost track of how many copies of that song I have by now. The tracks by Kidneythieves and Tricky are also great. They are very eerie and moody and match the film. Overall, if you buy one soundtrack this year, make it "Queen of the Damned."

(Buyer beware: The tracklisting on the back of the CD and in the booklet is in the incorrect order. The listing on the CD is the only correct one)

One of the top five best CDs I own. Great for working out. Great for brooding. Great for just jamming out and enjoying. Captures the movie. Great for vampire and goth lovers, as well as alt music fans.

But my brother bought this CD for me because he knew Aaliyah wasn in the movie... she was a singer, he though she was on the soundtrack. I gave it a listen and fell in love immediately. Not only with this soundtrack but the entire genre. This is one of the best soundtracks ever created. I have to say I am utterly satisfied. This is a must have

5.0 out of 5 stars This soundtrack is fantastic!!, May 27 2004

I just recently bought the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. A little late in the game since the movie came out in 2002! I seen the movie when it came out and loved the music... it was so fitting. Since then I have watched the movie again a few more times and I knew I just had to have the soundtrack!! The songs just stuck in my head.. full of passion, mysterious, powerful, dark and sexy. I know the movie didn't get alot of great reviews, but I personally liked the movie and I think the soundtrack topped it all off! I would definitely recommend this soundtrack... I absolutely love it and am already addicted to listening to it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great but lacks Jon Davis's vocals.., April 19 2004
This review is from: Queen of the Damned (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is amongst one of the best ever made in existance, the only thing that this lacks, is the vocals of Jonathan Davis doing his own songs. He couldn't do his own songs for this soundtrack due to record label differences. His group Korn is on Sony Records while this soundtrack was made on Warner Brothers Records. Because of these differences, even though Jonathan Davis wrote 5 of the songs for this soundtrack and even performed them himself in the movie, he couldn't perform them on this soundtrack. I myself have the Jonathan Davis versions of his songs, all in great quality, and 4/5 of them are studioized versions. If you want these ULTRA RARE versions, add me at mansonchyld@hotmail.com to MSN messenger. If you don't have messenger, sucks for you, I can't email songs, they're too big to send. So, if you have MSN instant messenger and want these songs, simply add me and you shall recieve them for free, those whom miss out....i'm sorry, these are all really great versions, and super rare as they are not on any cd in existance and probably never will be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best. Soundtrack. Evar., Mar 29 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Queen of the Damned (Audio CD)
After hearing "Forsaken" on the radio by chance I became obsessed with this soundtrack. I *finally* found out the details of the song and managed to download it online. But it was a terrible copy at a low bitrate and sounded bad, numerous compression artifacts. So I downloaded more and more, all flawed. Finally, I found a good copy, and also looked for other stuff on the album. All sounded bad (why do people encode music so poorly?)

Fed up with the horrible encoding, I took the risk of all the other songs sucking and ordered it from Amazon.

Woah... not disappointing at all. Well worth the cash.

Best song is Slept So Long, followed by Forsaken and Redeemer. There are some other good ones too. Great soundtrack, and well worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars AMAZING, Mar 12 2004
This review is from: Queen of the Damned (Audio CD)
ok i could be biased to this as i believe jonathan davis is one of the most talented ppl in music today BUT if your not into atmosphere creating music, you wont like this soundtrack, it has that kick that makes u know its about vampires and evil beings of such, i see alot of reviews saying its crap cuz of jon davis or crap because its trying to be gothic... gothic is style nowadays kiddies... get over it, any1 that really wants the atmosphere of raw power being shown in what the artists do best then you really should buy this

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark And Beautiful, Feb 28 2004
By
This review is from: Queen of the Damned (Audio CD)
I was reading the other reviews in regards to this CD and believe that this is not a Goth CD but rather a collection of popular artists trying to give voice to the world that was created in the film and with that, they suceed. I had found this CD the other day and I haven't stopped listening to it. Each track captures the essence that the film and even on the some levels the novel has. I am not a huge Korn fan but I felt Jon Davis had done a great job with coming up with this soundtrack. It also introduced me to a pair of artists that I now love deeply: Kidneythieves and Tricky. Overall, worth the five stars.
