5.0 out of 5 stars Alright
At the time, when this movie came out (1995), I was starting to notice how cheesy "horror" movies were becomming. I was 17/18 and couldn't differentiate if it were just my imagination and mindset becomming adultish, or if the the new props and technology were becomming too obvious.

With that said, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers may not want to make you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Basic teeny horror movie
Pretty typical horror movie overall. Very few GREAT horror movies out there, most like this one are not too scary, just a little bloody. There is a baby in this that is supposed to be a 'sacrifice' (that's not explained very well). Pretty typical horror movie overall. Very few GREAT horror movies out there, most like this one are not too scary, just a little bloody. There is a baby in this that is supposed to be a 'sacrifice' (that's not explained very well). A little boy apparently hears the same 'voices' that young Michael Myers heard before he killed his family but then they just leave off that storyline and he's just a little boy doing dumb things for the whole movie. New family moves in the the Myers house and they are dutifully killed off by Michael. They try to use the washing machine as an effect in an unsuccessful attempt to increase horror and suspense. The jerk father needs acting lessons badly. One cool thing thing was seeing Greg's dad from 'Dharma and Greg' as some kind of ruinic cult leader in another storyline that is not explained very well. Dharma and Greg, I miss that series:-)

2.0 out of 5 stars a pretty low point in the series, Nov 10 2007

This review is from: Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (DVD)
to me,this was the worst Halloween movie up to this point.i found the
storyline contrived and lame.not to mention,i don't see how it fit in
with the Michael Myers mythology up to that point.there's a lot of gaps
between the previous film and this one,and none of them are filled in
or explained in any satisfying,or even credible way .i get the distinct
impression this movie was just made as a cash cow, with not much thought
put into it.plus,i feel they overdid some of the death scenes.i don't
mean the violence, but more the sounds of the bones breaking and
such.the sounds were just way to vivid and crisp, which didn't really
fit the series up to that point.it just wasn't necessary.i think it was
done for cheap shock value.this movie did nothing to distinguish itself
from other slashers.in fact, that is really all this movie was-a run of
the mill slasher.for me,Halloween 6:The Curse of Michael Myers is a 2/5
at best.

With that said, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers may not want to make you run out of the room screaming in horror, but it is a great Halloween flick with some gore here and there. This movie is a mix between horror and flick, and I don't recommend it to people who are looking to be truly frightened -

5 stars though for a great Halloween spirited movie.

This was one of the best out of the series. Even though it was weird. It was quite good. Donald Pleasence gave a really great preformance in this film. He was a true credit to the series.

1.0 out of 5 stars i hate moustapha akkad, July 8 2004
DO NOT see this. it sucks. it is wretched. it has no suspense, all the characters suck, and the thorn thing, what the F@$#! it was scarier when michael just killed his family for no apparent reason. just skip this trash along with 4,5,6 and ressurection. stick with the first two and you can't go wrong. H2O wasn't bad either. and season of the witch is good, just don't expect myers to be in it. watch it as if it was NOT part of the halloween series and you will have fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lacking in suspense, thick with cliche, Jun 27 2004

Paul Isaacs (Shabbington, Buckinghamshire UK) - See all my reviews
This is the worst film in the long running "Halloween" series. By trying the desperate attempts of bring in a new story line about a bizzare paganistic cult is more funny than frightening, the use of gore in this film is shocking, belting it out to hideous and camp levels with no style or originality.

The only elements that are worth credit are the revamped score and the fact the mask in this movie is closer to that of Carpenter's orginal.

There is not much to say about this film except that it is bad, bad, bad. The only other thing I can say about it is that Paul Rudds performance was ridiculous. Also that the box art is too good for this crappy film, so don't be fooled by how good it looks. However, im still interested in seeing the uncut version. NOT reccomended.

This film is really bad.
The Thorn makes Micheal Myers not at all scary.
Thank God they pretended in h20 and ressurection the halloweens 4, 5, 6 never happened. Unless your a big fan of the series like me you wont like halloween films after seeing this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Halloween - The Curse of Michael Myers, Jun 4 2004
Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers

I'm begging you don't go see it! It is definetly the worst film in the series. It was absolutely trash.Michael had impregnated Jamie. Soon after she had her baby and was killed early in the movie. That's what I hated the most and the way they did it.Ahhh! Then they didn't even have Danielle Harris play Jamie. After thaty it just gets worse and worse. I have gotten my hands on the producer's cut which is 10 times better ; it really is.To bad most of you won't get to see it.Whatever you do don't get it.(1/10)

Halloween 6: The Producer's Cut

This one could be one of the best sequels. The producer's cut is great! This is way better than it's counterpart. The plot's deeper, the characters are brought out better, the score is more effective, and Danielle Harris is in the beginning. This is definetly one of the best sequals; too bad most of you will never see it.If you ever see it though you will know what I mean.If you are in for a good scare and a more reasonable movie than Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers check it out. (9/10)
