Addictive,

I CANNOT stop listening to this CD, something that came as a shock and unexpected delight to this over 40 mom/lawyer/folk music fan (maybe there IS a little Slim Shady in all of us....). After I saw the movie 8 Mile, I had to check out Eminem's music (more than just the soundtrack, that is) so I bought this and was floored. I now have all of his CDs (I think), including the early ones pre-dating his relationship with Dr. Dre. The Marshall Mathers LP was great, but I like this one better, and like it MUCH more than the Slim Shady LP. My favorite tracks are Business, Square Dance (which, as a Texan, I NEVER listen to without laughing out loud, though I think the lyrics wander off a bit at the end), and Sing for the Moment. I also like Without Me very much, though it certainly is more pop oriented than the others. If you like Eminem, you should not delay any longer. You will LOVE this CD.

Eminem may have the talent and the truth, but this album [stinks], poor stupidity and ridiculous skits, and everytime he bashes over and over and over again, is this talent?, the only talent in this cd is in the candy store, This album may have done well at the billboard charts, but in my opinion, it will never be as good as 2pac, for a better white rappers try listening to beastie boys or even that new white rapper Bubba Sparxxx, even though I Didn't buy this album (thank god I Didn't), eminem is the most overrated rap artist in music since vanilla ice.

Another Public Service Announcement: Cleaning out his closet,
By Glen Russell "Mr. Sound" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

Em's new CD is haevy. What I mean by heavy is REAL TOPICS. "White America" made me sweat bullets, simply because he keeps it real despite the fact that he is white. This song is forcing me to take him seriously, after years of me thinking that he was just punchlines. And when I heard "Cleaning out my closet", I was almost not suprised to hear him lyrically abuse his mother, but was shocked when he wished his mother death. He's anti-coroprate (which shows in all of this CD), and disrespectful, but you cant blame him because people in his life made him that way. Every song on this album contains controversial lyrics, from dissing the lyrically fit Canibus on "Square Dance", to giving it dirty to Jermaine Dupri. This album Em produced it mostly himself, so the sounds stray away from Dre's gangsta beats and more into the Em's follow my tone beats. The CD is worth the buy even if you are not an Eminem fan because his music gets you in an aggressive mood. to me thats just the right mood to get you through the day.

This review is from: The Eminem Show [Limited Edition w/ Bonus DVD] (Audio CD)
This album has it all...the regular Eminem ...talkin disses, Eminem singin, Dr Dre, D-12 and great lyrics. Ever since I have had this CD, it hasn't stoped playing. I personally think that this album is better than his previous 2 solo LP's, the D-12 album and his underground albums also. Below is my track rating (1-5):Curtains Up (Skit): 1 (very short intro) *Limited Edition DVD contains a music video, Eminem's movie trailer, and concert excerpts.*

The last two albums were great! They both, like this one had amazing crazy lyrics. But those two only had a few serious songs and the rest of the cd was joking around. Not this one, most of the cd is serious and deep. Its a lot more fersonal that the rest.Track Assesment: 1 Curtains Up(skit) 2.White America- Great anti government song 5/5 3.Buisness - cool song, coll lyrics 5/5 4.Cleaning Out My Closet - serious, deep, personal, amazing 6/5 5.Square Dance - cool beat, cool lyrics 5/5 6.The Kiss(skit) - kim.... After reading that you should relize how amazing this cd is. ps-I dont know if its possible for him to grow after this one

talented rapper gets personal -- with a bonus video disc,
By audrey (white mtns) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Eminem Show [Limited Edition w/ Bonus DVD] (Audio CD)
Eminem has lots of talent and an interesting life. Both elements are essential to this personal and ambitious CD and bonus disc. The beats are hot, the lyrics are cool and the production is terrific. I'm not the biggest rap fan in the world, but there is no denying that Em and Dre are an incredible team, and that Mathers tells compelling tales to a great beat. Short skits are scattered between songs, making this a true concept album. My favorite cuts are: White America, Without Me, Hailieï¿s Song, Business, ï¿Till I Collapse and Cleaning Out My Closet. This material is not appropriate for kids. This is mature content and the wording is sometimes profane. But for adults the stories are worth hearing, the music is catchy and the voice is eminently worthwhile. A nice booklet has lyrics and photos. The bonus dvd contains almost an hour of concert performances, a music video, the 8 Mile trailer, a 12-minute animated sketch from The Slim Shady Show and a trailer for an upcoming dvd. If you love rap, this is a no-brainer -- the latest, most mature entry from a very talented performer. If you are curious about the genre or the artist, you may very well find your new favorite disc. Finally, if you are one of many who criticize this artist on the grounds of sexism, racism or violence, you should listen to it yourself -- and perhaps let yourself be surprised by an articulate, intelligent young artist -- the Marilyn Manson of hip-hop.

A Darker Eminem,
By Ox Hermann (Syracuse, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Eminem Show [Limited Edition w/ Bonus DVD] (Audio CD)
The best Eminem album ever. The artist has obviously matured and taken a role in the industry as a giant and a true iconic symbol of rap. The DVD is a little gimicky, but the CD is extrodianry.
