5.0 out of 5 stars Wiggly Safari
Once again Wiggly success in the eyes of my daughter! And a particularly nice video for the adults in the house who are so fond of Steve Irwin. Educational, fun, and nostalgic

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't they watch this after edit?
This is a good DVD for your kids, as parents it will drive you crazy if you try to watch it with them. They didn't match the spoken words with the movements of their mouths...arg!

This DVD is one of their better ones for sure! My daughter absolutely loves it. The combo of the Wiggles and the Irwin Family/Australia Zoo is good entertainment. A must have for Wiggles fans:)

5.0 out of 5 stars our favourite Wiggles video so far, Mar 20 2007
This review is from: Wiggles, the:Wiggly Safari (DVD)
It's kind of poignant watching "Wiggly Safari" now that Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin has died--his enthusiasm and love of the animals will surely be missed. That being said, this is a great Wiggles dvd. The songs are particularly excellent, from the 70's disco number "Do the Owl", to the Spanish-flavoured "Little Dingo", to the bouncy twang of "Old Man Emu" to the quiet koala lullaby song. It's also lots of fun learning facts about the animals, though the omission of the kangaroo is a bit surprising! (What animal is more associated with Australia than that?) What we enjoy most about this dvd is the infectious joy and fun that everyone, from the Wiggles themselves to the smallest child dancer, seems to be having. The outtakes and bloopers at the end are also funny to watch.

One problem is that you can't ff past the previews at the beginning of the dvd--and they are 10-15 mins long! But the content of the dvd itself is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars A big hit with our little Wiggles fan..., Jun 8 2004
By A Customer

This is our fourth Wiggles movie; my 19 month old daughter is a huge fan. I admit, I bought this one for ME as well as her, as I am a huge Steve Irwin fan! The DVD has run at least 7 times in the 18 hours since it arrived on our doorstep. She is mesmerized! I liked the songs, and the animals, and the people. It's just a great video.

Another reviewer mentioned mandatory previews. I didn't find that to be the case. I simply hit the "skip" button on my DVD player until the menu screen popped up. Took about 5 seconds...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great movie but with mandatory previews, May 11 2004

My two-year-old daughter and I adore the Wiggles and I think this is their best movie. My daughter dances, sings, and laughs throughout the film, and then she asks to see it again. It is refreshing to see the Wiggles outside at the Australia Zoo, rather than on an indoor set. The animals are interesting and the skits are entertaining. The songs are catchy and don't stick in your head to drive you crazy the way some kids' songs can. The one problem with the video has nothing to do with the Wiggles-- it is those mandatory previews. The fast forward function has been disabled, so every time my daughter wants to watch it, she has to wait through 6 minutes of previews for other Hit Entertainment productions. However, the Wiggles are always worth the wait.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Second best Wiggles video so far BUT......, May 10 2004

The best Wiggles video we own is the Hoop-de-do Party.
This one is the second best.

The Wiggles team up w/ Steve Irwin aka The Crocodile Hunter to spotlight animals native to Australia. Unfortunatley, they spend more time on themselves and the dancers rather than the animals. During the song about the emus, not ONE REAL EMU was shown. Nor were any owls shown during that song - they showed concert footage. There were no kangaroos, and only a few crocodiles (When Steve Irwin is introduced at the beginning, he says to Murray, "My crocodiles would love a good seranade"...OK so where are the crocodiles, mate?)

I wish the creative team would spotlight The Wiggles less (yes I know its their video)and the animals more. It would have been a great intro to Austrailian wildlife turns out only to be so-so.

On the other hand, this video has more life than most Wiggle videos. It happens to be my daughter's favorite..and i have to admit mine too.

So Wiggle on...

I think all of the wiggles videos are the best. i can not pick just one, my daughter and i just love them. but this video is full of great music and funny funny skits with the whole gang. the children love them because the wiggles know how to interact with our children. and thats why they are loved so much by our children. so lets not pick and choose cause we do not like it lets let our children love them cause they do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Safari!~~, Feb 17 2004
This review is from: Wiggles, the:Wiggly Safari (VHS Tape)
This is what I would call a very intriging video. I mean you have the Croc Hunter rolling all over the place trying to protect his goodies. Well, the Wiggles happily sing and dance all over the place. I do warn that Captain Feathersword i sgetting pretty annoying. It seems he has to be included everywhere in this thing. But, over all this thing is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Educational Experience and Entertaining, Feb 1 2004

Well, I think we have just about all of the Wiggle's videos and this one is just so very cute. The DVD has an interview with them and Steve Irwin at the end and it really added to the video. If you're expecting the same studio version, this isn't it. The only disappointment was that they didn't use a live emu and I really wanted to see one! Captain Feathersword is as goofy as ever, the man is so incredibly talented he should win some sort of award! It's hysterical watching the scene with him in the bathtub. These guys have every man's dream job - getting paid a whole lot to act like nuts but hey, it's wonderful what they're doing and the educational value is outstanding. I've learned more about other cultures since we've been watching the Wiggles than I've ever known before. Don't hesitate on this one - the "Snakes, you'd better not touch" song is worth the price of the DVD by itself. Golly, is that funny! Greg even gives us a couple of Elvis moves! Pretty good and very entertaining to toddlers. These guys put out a bunch of stuff and spend a ton of time away from their families to do it - to educate kids and they deserve all the credit and accolades that they've been receiving. At least with them, you don't have to worry about screening the video before you put it in. You don't have to worry about the pirate, even being in a wetsuit, ever seeing something that you shouldn't. They think of everything and for that I'm greatly appreciative. Now, too bad they can't take over the Thomas the Train series so that THEY'RE watchable!
