Nothing really new. The First one was better. Just new items thats it. The same sounds from the original. And yes if that freakin kid still whines from the first one. Wait for the 3rd version to come out! Save your money!

The only thing cool is the new 6 flags rollercoasters. Gets old quickly

I don't know why I neglected to write this review back in June of 2002 like I should have--oh yeah, come to think of it, it was because I was having WAY TOO MUCH FUN playing this game!! After having demo'd the original ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON (yes, with all of its expansion packs) and getting majorly addicted to it in early-2002, I was at the Tacoma Mall on the morning of June 5th to purchase the eagerly-anticipated ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 2. Now that I realize that I haven't played it in awhile (and being rather shocked that the price has already plummetted to ten bucks), here's my belated scoop on it: IT ROCKS!

Sure, it does seem kind of similar to the original; nevertheless, it gives you a much greater opportunity to build the park of your dreams MUCH faster than the first edition. Now you don't have to worry so much about that pesky tree here & there; the game's "brain" figures out the little annoying logistical details for you! That makes it much easier to plop down pre-existing rides, as well as to create your own. Also, the varied pre-built coasters (there's many more of them this time around) come with their own paths (which you are free to change once you plop them down); again, this saves a lot of time!

The variety of rollercoasters is much more up-to-date: in addition to the regular Steel-Looping, Inverted and Corkscrew designs from the first game, we now get the Boomerang Shuttle designs (in both regular and Inverted form), Floorless, Flying, Lay-Down, Hyper, Hyper-Twisting and EVEN the Multi-Dimensional Coaster (a la "X" at Six Flags Magic Mountain). You also have much more flexibility when it comes to designing your own rides. In ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 2, you call the shots now more than ever! Now, if they only allow us to ride our own coasters and give us a 3-D design for ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 3 when it comes out...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, ESPECIALLY FOR SIM BUFFS

I revieved this game from my husband for Valentine. I wanted it because it has rollercoaters from SF parks. I rode quite a few of these rides and the PC game rides are like the ones I rode. I wished you could ride these rides on the computer game. It would make it much better. I really enjoy playing the game I don't even play my PS2 rollercoaster game now that I have this one.

There is a few nice additions to this game; nicer paths, the scenario editor, tracks editor and the new coasters.... but there are many letbacks... you can't customize paths, it's not as user friendly as the first RCT, there is STILL no "undo button"

My brother got this for Christmas. Eventually one day I was really bored (yes, bored enough to watch teletubbies or clean the toilet) and started playing it. It did not take me long to figure it out. You can change the name of your park, which I did right away. I added all this crazy music to my rides and gave my rides and stalls the strangest names. But enough about me-- lets talk about you, as a buyer. This is a great game to play when your bored enough to watch teletubbies or clean the toilet (more fun too). You can build a normal old park and take it seriously, or you can go absolutely CRAZY!!! (you can drown people, hopefully by accident, put music on every ride, make underground rollercoasters, etc.) I would most defenetly NOT recommend this for children under 9. It can get confusing.

This is a wonderful game!! The graphics are top notch, the music is beautiful, and the gameplay is fun for kids. It's nice to have that "brings back an old memory" experience after the first Roller Coaster Tycoon.

The objectives are kinda hard. I haven't even won the easiest level yet!!

A few things are harder to find. Ie...the "Finances" menu.

Other than that, it's a great game!!!

I LOVE both RCT 1 and 2, but I am so sick of playing for objectives. There should be different versions because sometimes I just want to build a park. I want to build a park without financial restriction and objective restriction. There should be two modes: fun mode and tycoon mode. It would be sooo much better. I don't really care about the tycoon part. I'm just sick of building a park and then it gets shut down, and I have no guests, but I have this amazing park. Two modes would be SO MUCH BETTER!

This CD is so fun!When you play you will either create your own park or you can improve and bulid the missing rides.The goal to some of the choices is to make guests happy and to make them satified.You can put alot of shops and stalls,and rides that are already built or make your own!You can even name your own park or keep it the same.Like for a Exaple:If you want to name it want you want to name it and if it already has Six Flags Over Texas on it you can change it.The rest is a surprise.Buy this you will love it! This game is okay. I got it for Christmas last year and I thought it was cool. But then I got into Yugioh! and lost my passion for Roller Coasters. Then for this Christmas I got RCT:LL and it was superb. I mean RCT2 is good but it is way too slow moving around on the screen when your are in a scenario. And it takes forever for it to Quit the game. QUIT THE GAME! Come on. If you are patient then buy this game.

It's cool to see a ride that you've done at a Six Flags park, and with so many other advancements, it is a lot of fun.
