Wow...i am constantly amazed by the talent that the guys in Lifehouse possess through out all of their albums...I love Stanley Climbfall and i couldnt imagine not listening to it at least once a week...This CD is so much different than No Name Face (which by the way i have 2 copies of..one for my car and one for my listening pleasure at home...)and it took me a little...

3.0 out of 5 stars Stanley climbfall - Did lifehouse climb or fall?
I am the hugest fan of No Name Face... heard every song millions of times, but Stanley Climbfall left me questioning, Did Lifehouse base this cd solely on the fact that people liked "Hanging by a Moment"? I think they did, because every song is similar to "Hanging by a Moment". Not saying that song was horrible, but NNF was an any mood cd, where as,...

Wow...i am constantly amazed by the talent that the guys in Lifehouse possess through out all of their albums...I love Stanley Climbfall and i couldnt imagine not listening to it at least once a week...This CD is so much different than No Name Face (which by the way i have 2 copies of..one for my car and one for my listening pleasure at home...)and it took me a little while to fall in love with it like i did with No Name Face..after listening to it on repeat i found myself singing along and loving every minute of it...
I greatly recommend that any Lifehouse fans go see them in concert. Their shows are amazing...nothing fancy...but amazing nonetheless...The guys even stayed after and signed CD's!
Pick up a copy of No Name Face and Stanley Climbfall as soon as possible...They are both just too good to pass up...
For all of you non- Lifehouse enthusiasts, Lifehouse used to be Blyss and they released a CD called Diff's Lucky Day back in the day...The songs on this album are as powerful as No Name Face and Stanley Climbfall combined...There were only 1000 copies released so any one who has this CD is extremely lucky and i am extremely jealous! But still, if you ever get time to do so download Fool and Storm by Blyss...you will not be disappointed i swear!

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Stanley Climbfall (Audio CD)
I'm going to try and keep this short, so I'll just start by saying that this is one of the best albums I own--and I own a lot. Whereas with "No Name Face" there were always tracks I could skip over to get to the better ones, such is simply not the case with "Simon Climbfall." The title track itself is all strange and blissful sadness, and when Jason Wade writes lyrics like "living just to make it through another day," it sticks with you. So many of us think that, and yet no one ever really says it, at least aloud. He's a wonderful songwriter.

Other standouts (must I pick?) are "Wash," "Just Another Name," "Take Me Away," and "Spin." The band is truly adept in writing music that is more an experience, rather than just clever wording or hooky bass riffs; I believe they accomplish this with actual MELODY and what must be a very good knowledge of composition, in order to turn in and around those beautiful resolutions the way they do.

While there's no mistaking that this music is the product of Lifehouse, I see growth and greater collaboration among the members themselves. When artists fail to grow with each album, they are accused of not doing anything different, not maturing. When they do mature, however, people will inevitably complain that "it's just not like their first one." I believe that artistic growth is much more important than the bottom line, and while I'm very disappointed that this album sold so relatively few copies, I'm glad there was little artistic sacrifice. Here's hoping they come out with their next one soon, and that the masses will rediscover how truly gifted and real these guys are.

2.0 out of 5 stars Climbfall Falls Flat, Mar 29 2004
This review is from: Stanley Climbfall (Audio CD)
Being a huge fan of the great craftsmanship that went into their previous album "No Name Face", Stanley Climbfall could not compete in the least.

The songwriting was very dull, the production boring, and the album continuity flat. Nothing of the great creativity that went into songs such as Everything and Breathing.

Not worth the money. Better luck next time to Lifehouse.

4.0 out of 5 stars Taking a different direction...., Mar 1 2004
By
This review is from: Stanley Climbfall (Audio CD)
Lifehouse went a totally different direction on this album, away from the pop oriented sound on their debut album, and onto a more mature, dynamic sound. My first few listens were judgmental, and I didn't give the album a fair chance to shine, because I was expecting more poppy hooks and rhythms. After I let that out of my head, I listened to some pretty excellent music.

Without a doubt, the two best songs on the album are "How Long" and "The Beginning", two of the last songs on the album. They show maturity as a band, and there is a Pink Floyd kind of feel to them, as the songs make you drift off and you feel like everything will be OK upon listening, and shortly thereafter.

"Just Another Name", "Anchor", and "Am I ever Gonna Find out" are other stand out tracks, and sort of have a pop sound to them, with catchy hooks.

Jason Wade is a brilliant writer, and has a unique voice. I look forward to Lifehouse's future work, as they are on the verge of putting out a masterpiece with their current evolution.

I LOVED this entire CD. It was beautiful. The music, Jason Wade's voice, and the wonderful lyrics just wash over you. The quality of the CD is so good. I never get tired of listening to it. It led me to view them as my favorite band. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes something different, with lyrics that can be interpretted in different ways.

4.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed, Jan 22 2004

I am a huge Lifehouse fan. I loved every track on their debut cd "No Name Face". I anticipated the release of their newest cd "Stanley Climbfall" for months. Yet, when it was finally released I was a little disappointed. I just couldn't get into the lyrics and melodies like I could with their previous albulm. Although the cd does have a few good songs, it just didn't blow me away. I truly hope that their next effort gives me something to gush about, but until then "No Name Face" will be the primary albulm I listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haunting, powerful and beautiful..., Dec 22 2003

"Stanley Climbfall" is more than just a great album. In my opinion, it far surpasses "No Name Face" simply because of it's radiant, emotional lyrics that still send chills down my back 2 years after it was released. I've owned the album since October 2002 and this is such a wonderful work of art. Lots of work and feeling was put into the 14 songs of Stanley Climbfall. I have introduced Lifehouse to so many of my friends and they all love them. Whether you're a rock, rap, hip-hop or any other kind of music fan, "Stanley Climbfall " is a must have. Hear them, feel them and enjoy them.

Spin-This is one of the most up-beat and fast paced songs on the album. It turns a bad mood into a good one. 10/10

Wash-The drum-work in this song seems to show itself a little more than the rest of the album. 10/10

Sky Is Falling-One of the most haunting but beautiful tracks on the cd.
10/10

Anchor-Anchor gets my adrenaline pumping with its harmoneous, non-stop alternative rock. 10/10

Am I Ever Going To Find Out-This song makes me think about what it is that I am looking for in life and if I ever going to find what it is that i'm looking for. 9/10

Stanley Climbfall-In life, we all stand, climb, fall and get back up again. This song explains it all. 9/10

Out of Breath-This song is one of their harder songs but in the same, it is very emotional and gives me chills when I hear it. 10/10

Just Another Name-This song is kind of hard to follow. Nevertheless, it has a great beat and good lyrics. 8/10

Take Me Away-This is one of their best rock songs on the CD. It gives hope to all of us wanting to get away and leave our past lives behind. 10/10

The rest of the music on the album are all 10/10s. In my opinion, the second half of Stanley Climbfall gets more powerful and beautiful. I recommend "Stanley Climbfall," by Lifehouse to everyone that appreciates great, real music...

5.0 out of 5 stars Stand, Climb and Fall--It's what really happens, Dec 5 2003
This review is from: Stanley Climbfall (Ltd.Ed) (Audio CD)
Life is full of lessons and challenges. In the album, "Stanley Climbfall" by Lifehouse, the music is real and pure. It expresses what it's like to go through life and search for whatever it is you're looking for. The music has touched my life as well as my heart. It has brought out feelings inside of me that I never knew I had. When things are tough, I listen to "Stanley Climball" and I feel better about myself. I recommend this album to anyone who goes through that frequently, rocky path and experiences what I have experienced.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, Nov 16 2003
By
L. Miller (NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stanley Climbfall (Audio CD)
There's no climbing, only falling.

I just bought this CD, and I was looking forward to hearing it. But I was thoroughly disappointed.

Mainly, the songs this album lacks are the ones that made "No Name Face" a great album. Like, for example, slow, melodious, meaningful songs like "Trying" and "Breathing." There was none of that here. It was all clanking noise. Very un-harmonious. Too bad. If you're thinking about buying this, I would say save yourself some pain, unless you want pointless noise to listen to. Buy Coldplay Live instead.
