5.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie
I believe that this was a great movie that people can enjoy and lift your spirits. Andy Richter was great and Dolly Parton was beautiful and Dave Sheridan was perfect. It kept me laughing all through the movie and I recommend it to all comedy fans especially Ferrally Bros. fans.

3.0 out of 5 stars Frank McKlusky: Comedy Internecine (*)
After his daredevil father "Madman" McKlusky is left comatose & brain-dead after a motorcycle stunt goes horribly wrong; young Frank McKlusky is bought up to be extremely safety conscious by his overprotective mother (Dolly Parton, still looking quite sexy. Ain't botox a godsend?).
Of course all this mollycoddling has turned Frank into a big sook, and fifteen years...

Of course all this mollycoddling has turned Frank into a big sook, and fifteen years later the grown-up Frank is still living with his mother, who insists he wear safety gear at ALL times, including a crash helmet. (Ditto Frank's dog). And his now hippie-backslash-vegetable father & his mute, agoraphobic brother Daryl who always wears a space suit. As if that isn't bad enough the entire family is addicted to reruns of old 80s sitcoms like MR. BELVEDERE & CHARLES IN CHARGE.
Frank now works as an insurance claims investigator. A job his mother feels is nice and safe for him: amusing considering whenever she hugs Frank he is nearly suffocated by her jub-jubs (not a bad way to die, really!).
The "plot" or what passes for one begins to unravel when Frank's overweight partner Dooley is found dead. It is a tragic scene: Dooley is discovered with his head dunked in a fish tank wearing nothing but his underwear. The cops declare it a "classic fat guy suicide". Case closed. But Frank remains unconvinced & with the help of his new partner Sharon (Cameron Richardson), a cute but ditzy blonde, Frank goes against the wishes of the police & his boss to find the murderer.
Written by Mark Perez & Sheridan, FRANK MCKLUSKY CI is a silly but reasonably enjoyable comedy, with cameos from Emmanuel "Webster" Lewis, Lou Ferrigno & of course; Scott Baio is soon worked into the plot- and immediately all the movies feeblest jokes begin to revolve around him. The WWE's Chyna also appears. She can body slam me any time.
The movie isn't a classic, and neither is it a flick to put on your list of movies you must see before you die; but it's not bad for killing time. The comic highlight for me is the scene where Frank goes fishing for paraplegics. That alone is worth shelling out $1 to rent the DVD. FRANK MCKLUSKY is mostly recommended to those who are old enough to remember the aforementioned sitcoms. Young kids may not get the humour in this, but generally it's pretty harmless so this is an OK movie for them to watch with guidance from an adult (unless you happen to be one of those conservative wet-blanket types). Check it out if you're stuck at home on a rainy day or if you just need a good excuse to get out of slicing the tops off your Grandma's bunions with a potato peeler.
(* in Collins English dictionary = "Mutually destructive. Deadly).

I think people that did not like this movie does not have a sense of humor. Yes, this movie Is "outlandish", but one of the funniest I've ever seen. If you like "Zoolander", "There's something about Mary", "Austin Powers" or "Dumb and dumber", than this movie is definitely for you. If you find these movies stupid - skip this title.

2.0 out of 5 stars frank mcKlusky, Aug 25 2003
This review is from: Frank Mcklusky C.I. (DVD)
Let's clear this up from the top: Frank McKlusky is NOT a superior comedy. This stupid (and sometimes offensive) comedy follows the life of over-precautious Frank as he stumbles in and out of a murder case. I say stupid without any regret because it is, sad to say, very stupid. But what makes Frank McKlusky funny is not the over-enforced, cliched jokes (which there are a lot of), but the more subtle and less noticeable things. I did laugh a few times. There WERE some funny moments, but overall it was tasteless and uninspired. A waste of money, but not necessarily a waste of time. Note: Probably the biggest disappointment in the movie is the inclusion of Randy Quaid when, quite frankly, he doesn't even DO anything. Sort of a waste, you know.

This movie is quite possible the corniest slapstick comedy I have ever seen, but what makes it worthy of 5 stars is the inclusion of the legendary Dolly Parton. Dolly is simply stunning in her role in this film which is definately too brief.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable film!, April 30 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Frank Mcklusky C.I. (DVD)
Frank McClusky, C.I. is not the best movie ever made, but it is enjoyable if you allow yourself to watch the movie for what it is. The movie was made to be slapstick and funny, it was never meant to be serious! Also, Dolly Parton later reported in a magazine the only reason she did this film was to send Hollywood a message that "she would still do movies"!

1.0 out of 5 stars This is THE ABSOLUTE WORST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN, Mar 8 2003
This review is from: Frank Mcklusky C.I. (DVD)
I swear on the soul of my mother, the only way you could possibly laugh at any part of this film is to have some sort of brain damage or possibly be under the influence of a controlled substance. This movie was so terrible, Touchstone Pictures almost didn't release it - The script, the comedy, is as flat as week old beer - I did not once laugh at any part of this movie - the delivery of the actors' lines were stale and I felt worse about myself after forcing myself to sit through the entire thing - Shame on you Touchstone for allowing anything this pointless and boring to be made - To SUM UP - DO NOT Rent this - DO NOT purchase it, If someone gives you this movie as a gift - exchange it for something else - I have seen close over 100,000 films over the course of my lifetime - I beg you to trust me on this - Run, do not walk away from this utter failure trying to pass itself off as a movie -
