The original Dark Cloud was one of the first RPG-like games to come out for the PlayStation 2, and although it broke from the traditional console-style mode, it mixed fun gameplay, dungeon exploration, and a simple Sim-city mechanic to create a game that never got boring.

Dark Cloud 2 is in the same vein, but it's a quantum leap forward. The graphics, story, animation, and gameplay are all clearly a new generation beyond the first game. There are some repetitive bits, but this is balanced by the sheer depth of the game. Sometimes, you'll be playing to build up your golfing skill, sometimes to work on your fishing, sometimes to enhance your combat skills, sometimes to explore, sometimes to advance the story, sometimes to build your cities. Few games have such a sheer number of fun activities all rolled into one, and each aspect is done with a light, breezy quality that prevents it from feeling onerous.

I highly recommend this game, especially if you enjoyed the original Dark Cloud.

This game has the most unique style, but is executed well. Nice cell shaded graphics, sound is OK. Nice controls. There aren't really any action RPGs, but I don't see how they could get much better than this. You get your moneys worth hear. $0.42 an hour. Compare that to Prince of Persia witch is now, $10 an hour. The story is one of the best and it take about 90 hours to beat. There are a bunch of ways to get money in minigames. Like fishing and you can take picture to make stuff and improve stuff.

This Game is really entertaining. It is very very complicated at first, but once you start playing, it is amazing. There are so many extra things you can do and find. Inventing, fishing, fighting, and exploring the expansive world. Definetly a jump from the original although some of the old features are still around. The weapons are very easy to break at the beginning which can become rather agravating, and if you stick to fighting in this game as you did in the first, you might find yourself dying quite a bit. The great thing about this game is that nothing is ever the exact same the second time, and you can easily get 100's of hours of play. There's a reason why this game is so expensive and hard to find.

the game is fun like the first game. you run around hacking at enimies but theres no guts or blood gushing out of the monster which sucks. the game is fun like always.

This game was off the hook. The Dark Cloud 2 graphics was better than Dark Cloud. It was awesome to the extreme. When I saw dark cloud 2, I thought it would be bad because in the front the boy was carrying a wrench instead of a sword. But I was suprised about Dark Cloud 2.

This is one of the greatest games ever! I couldn't believe how great it was. I loved the Dark Cloud and Dark cloud 2 is even better than the first. One day I decided to show my sister the beginning, I wanted her to go at her own pace so I let her play the very beginning. By the time it got to the real game she was hooked. Right now she just asked me if she could play it. I am only at chapter 4, because I'm sharing it with my sister and she always wants to play. When I saw the graphics on the box I thought they would be bad but they're excellent! I can't get as soon as I beat it i'm going to give it to my friend because she wants to play it too and we share all our games. She is the one who loaned me the Dark Cloud and told me after i had finished that there was a second one. Right then I knew I had to have it. So, I got it for my birthday and i'm soooo happy with it. She can't wait to play it either. If you buy this game, in my opinion, you won't be waisting your money. But to each his own,or her. I just thought this was a great game.

Well, I loved the first game. That was one of the best RPGs ive ever played. Dark CLoud 2 is even better. The only thing I miss is the original graphics. The cartoon ones are alright but... Well, I suggest any fans of any RPG get this game. I have not beaten it yet but I am on Chapter 6.

You know, I work at a job that basically blocks all sites except for Amazon.com, so I'm pretty reliant on reviews that other people have made on Amazon about books or games or whatever. I was drawn in by the reviews of this game. It seemed amazing! So many positive things to say! I had to try it out.

This was one of the most boring games I've ever touched. I found the whole camera thing super-annoying, the dungeons and fights really exasperating, and the whole game just not worth it. The graphics were good, the dialogue was fun, but really, there are just so many better things to do with your time than play this game.

it's pure addiction, i tell you.

this game is beyond description. there is SOOOO MUCH YOU CAN DO. if you get bored of building weapons, go fish! get bored of that? go take pictures and invent something! get bored of that? build your ridepod! get bored of that? build your monsters! get bored of that??? play speda and earn medals!

you really just can't get bored with it. though at first look it may look kind of kiddy, you will definilty change your mind when you see how complex this game is.

and the story isn't bad, by any means.

so buy this! it's the best game i've played in a LONG TIME.

Hi! This game is awesome. The georama system is somewhat better than the first. You are able to go into dungeons, look for georama parts in some floors, and build your own town to restore the origin point. At the end of Balance Valley is my favorite part of the game. Saving Lin from the fire, and fighting that man (forgot his name) with Monica. My favorite place to build is Sindain, however. I haven't beat the game, but I intend to. I almost had, but I accidentally erased it from my memory card, and I had to start all the way over. Now I'm in Sindain on the third floor. So buy this game if you haven't. It's worth renting, plus buying.
