Don't watch this movie. This is the worst movie w/such quality actors I've ever seen. Steve Busceni is so under utilized its a joke. Then the parts he's in the movie, they make him act gay. I mean homosexual gay. Absolutely horrible. After you see the first "action" sequence at the movie version of McDonalds, you will wish you never started the movie (it's clear right from the beginning). There is no drama, character developement is weak at best, other then the super. The two aspiring movie writers should have just been cut out of the whole movie, they played no major part in the story, they were not funny, and they wore the same clothes every day!!!!! Elizabeth Hurley, Dennis Leary, and Steve Busceni read the script, sounded good, and the director and producer screwed the whole thing up. DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. You'll be sorry, you've been warned.

Denis Leary(Judgment Night, Final) makes Pluto's character come to life with spazazz. Elizabeth Hurley(Bedazzled2000, The Weight Of Water) is a godess on screen as she does the chiropracter quite well and the little love scenes with her and Leary were nice but I wanted to see more of her. Donald Faison(Tv's Scrubs, Can't Hardly Wait) and that other guy, forgot his name, as they try to figure out the name of their movie and write it at the same time. They are hilarious. "as a cop have you ever seen a guy being penetrated with throwing darts in the eyeball and chin?". Luis Guzman(Punch-Drunk Love, Magnolia), Melonie Diaz, Chris Noth(Tv's Law and Order, Tv's Bad Apple), and Steve Buscemi(Resevoir Dogs, Ghost World) also star. It doesnt balance itself out a bit and some of the scenes are better left out then in but the outcome and the end is great. I also liked the bit on TV when they say the redheaded kid is writing, directing and starring in his own movie

This movie has a fantastic human element to it. I found it to be profound, yet keeping a true since of humor. A must have for DVD collectors looking for some depth and humor to their collection.

A modern day film noir...,

This is an interesting film, with a lot of very artistic shots. For instance one scene a killer falls down dead, and lands face to face with someone tied up on the floor, which makes for some eerie and yet comical artistic filmography. And how about that Melonie Diaz, WOW!!! Melonie is one hot little babe, prancing around in her catholic schoolgirl pleated short skirt, owning the film is worth it, just to watch her, what eye candy, and what legs!!! Anyhow the leading man is our comical hero, and this film is almost a comedy, a humorous look at crime. A future classic, and should appeal to those who do not like commercial films, and like art, jazz, and the finer things in life...

talk about a film that really made me laugh, i picked up a used copy since the price was pretty cheap, Not even hearing of the movie beforehand . I took the dvd home and watched it and lemme just say this film is hilarious. There are quite a few things goin on at once , but they go well together that build up to some funny parts. Even during some so called serious scenes i couldnt help but laugh.. i enjoyed this movie and would reccomend it to anybody, DIcallo is so original with this film it doesnt come close to feeling like any film i saw before, he truly added his own flair to it, definately up there as one of my favorite comedies

Won't win Academy Award, but much better than you'd expect.,

This movie is much better than you'd expect, but you need to be careful. There are parts of it that are gut-bustingly funny (like the two "writer-producers" that wanna be Quentin Tarantino, the interviews with the kid "hero"), but there is also some graphic violence in spots in there. When the latter shows up there is no warning, it's meant to jolt you, so keep this in mind when deciding who should see it. This is intentionally a two thrust movie. If you've ever seen the movie "Fright Night" (also much better than it sounds), you'll understand. Remember in that movie how the first half seemed to be a good comedy and then about half way through the movie essentially flipped and became a really good vampire movie? An even older example was the 1970 Godfrey Cambridge movie "Watermelon Man". Starts out as a comedy and then when you're hooked morphs into a powerful tale of racial prejudice. They do a similar thing here, except that they deliberately go back and forth. They are trying to keep you off balance here and it works. The film keeps the pace up and never drags. Denis Leary and Elizabeth Hurley play their parts well and believably. Although some of the situation is definitely a stretch, hey--it's a movie! In short, this movie is defintiely recommended. It's not a Great movie, but it is a Good movie. Nobody will mistake this for a cinematic masterpiece, but it's better than 90% of what's out there. It gets four stars for effort and entertainment value, and not pretending to be more than it is. Your time and money will not be wasted on this one.

There's a good reason why this wasn't released theatrically.,

I recall reading an interview with director Tom Dicillo where he expressed frustration with Lions Gate's handling of this film. The film sat in limbo for quite a while only to be denied a theatrical release in the US.After one actually watches this limp, half-baked mess of a film it's easy to understand why it went straight to video. After high profile bombs like Bedazzled and Serving Sara, it looks like Liz Hurley isn't having any better of a time in the wonderful world of "too hip to have anything resembling a plot" Indie films. Eventually Dicillo will stop pouting and get back to making films as enjoyable as Johnny Suede and Living In Oblivion.

This movie does not know what it wants to be. A comedy? Love story? Crime drama? It has multiple storylines that we expect to somehow come together (and they do), but they are so different, it simply does not work. The beginning is very funny and entertaining, so you expect to be in for 90 minutes of great movie fun, but right there, the sad urban drama line kicks in and ruins the whole thing. In the end, the sad and the funny parts cancel each other out, bringing the whole experience to NEUTRAL. The only positives are charming Liz Hurley and the cuddly New York setting. But even that is not worth paying for in this case.

This movie was awesome. It has so many plots that come together very well in the end. I couldn't stop watching the movie i have watched over 5 times in one day. I highly recomend it. It has the Guy From scrubs, Dennis Leary, Elizabeth Hurley, and my favorite actor Steve Buschemi.
