5.0 out of 5 stars Upgrading from Hallmark 2003
I just received this new program two days ago and I am loving every minute of it..The new cards are beautiful as Hallmark's always are..I have used just about all the Hallmark programs out there and they just keep getting better and better..So far, this one's the BEST..I had a problem with the 2003 program similar to that of Talonii..I contacted Sierra and they told me...

3.0 out of 5 stars okay not great!
I would of loved this program but was disapointed when I realized it did not have business card program. American Greeting programs have it and its great. Unfortunately my husband lost the program. I purchased Hallmark software thinking the business card feature would be there and I was disapointed by such a big name not having that function.

4.0 out of 5 stars This looks pretty good to me!, May 22 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2004 (CD-ROM)
I think this software is a great greeting card software to own. You have over 4200 pre-made Hallmark cards to choose from for ANY occasion. If you can't find one, just do a theme search and it will come up with an answer for you. The box does say 4500 cards to choose from, but when you live 100 miles from the nearest Hallmark store, fudging by 300 cards doesn't make that much of a difference. If you prefer to change the wording in any of the cards, you can choose from over 3900 greetings, or write your own. The clip art selections are numerous with drawn objects to actual photos. You can even change the pre-made calendars, which are very cute on their own, to suit your own picture preferences. Of course, you can create cards, calendars, postcards, etc from scratch if you prefer to work that way. The calendar selection includes monthly, weekly, and daily formats. If you are looking for the entire Hallmark selection, you need to buy all of their software, which could get pricey, or just make a trip to your local Hallmark store and buy one when you need one. This is a great and fun software. The Photo Power software that is included is a pretty simple photo editing software. It doesn't have many options for editing photos, but it works in a pinch for making cards, photo frames, etc. One big plus on that is it takes out red eye. You can use the photo editing on it's own, but it doesn't give you a print option. Hallmark Deluxe 2004 even has a simple event planner calendar and address book for you to use. Probably not the best planner for an office professional, but it works well for the home. Have fun with it!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Deception in Number of Cards, May 6 2004
By
This review is from: Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2004 (CD-ROM)
The program works fine on Windows XP and is easy to use. It lets you print cards of many sizes. The big disappointment is in the number of cards that comes with the program. The back of the box claims "4500+ Cards and Sentiments, Celebrate life's special moments with cards for all occasions". That's nice. The problem with that is that I counted the total number of cards that come with the program. It only adds up to 1045! So where are the other 3450+ cards and sentiments? Are you supposed to design them yourself? I just don't know. And certainly "cards for all occasions" means just that, doesn't it? Well there's lots of birthday cards and plenty of holiday cards but not one sympathy card of any kind. I guess you just need to buy those on your own.

1.0 out of 5 stars This program should be recalled., April 17 2004

As an avid user of Hallmark Card Studio programs, I must say that I am highly disappointed in Card Studio Deluxe 2004.

This program refused to load on my XP machine.

After spending considerable time and troubleshooting with the moderators of Hallmark Card Studio 2004, it was discovered if you previously had a particular version of Print Artist (Print Artist 12 in my case) installed on your computer, then uninstalled it, Card Studio 2004 would not load.

Even though I do not want and use the Print Artist program (taking up disk space), I had to reinstall it in order for Card Studio to load.

Up until now Hallmark Card Studio Programs have been "5 star" programs.

I've also found that there is not enough ethnic content...if it is there, it's hard to find.

Come on Hallmark...we are a melting pot!

This program should be recalled and the purchasers should be compensated either monetarily or with the upcoming 2005 version.

For more issues with this program, check the Hallmark Card Studio 2004 message boards.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good purchase in my opinon, April 9 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2004 (CD-ROM)
I purchased this because I have other Hallmark programs, which I like very much. I am highly disappointed with this one. Every time I tried to make a card, my computer hung up. I had to use Control-Alt-Delete to get out of it. I never could get one to print. Also I tried to make a card to email - it created a .exe attachment. A lot of ISP's and spam control programs filter out emails with .exe attachments due to potential for viruses and other harmful files.

I ended up uninstalling the program. It also takes up a very large amount of hard drive space. I might try it again after increasing my RAM. I've never had the same problems with any other programs, though, as I did with this one, and I've used a lot of memory intensive programs.

Very disappointed when I got this home and tried to use it. You are very limited in the personalization and you cannot resize the cards from half-fold to quarter fold.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, Jan 17 2004
By A Customer

I have one of Hallmark's first card softwares. There are so many things you can't do on this compared to my old one. There are many cards where you can't change the type, for ex. from "cousin" to "son", like you can on their old one. The old software you can click on the graphics and change it to something similar. This will not let you customize the size of the cards, even though it gives the options. I could go on and on. Not worth the price.

I just purchased this software and find that it doesn't even offer any July 4th ideas for invitations, cards or sentiments! This is the first software of this type that I've purchased and I would not recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, Dec 29 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2004 (CD-ROM)
I have just starting using Hallamrk Card Studio Deluxe 2004 and I love it. I have been reading that people are having problems with installing or running it on Windows XP, and that is what I use, but I had absolutely no problems with that. I have had trouble emailing the cards to a friend who has a tight virus scanner on her work computer, and her computer won't open the cards because they are "unsafe". But that is the only problem I am having. Otherwise, I am very impressed!

1.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea - Lousy Implementation!, Dec 21 2003
By

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe 2004 (CD-ROM)
The Hallmark imprematur led me to this product, but again and again as in the past, the lousy implementation of Sierra Products software bit me in the posterior.

The pictures are non-changeable, and to modify or personalize the text you need a good chunk of time.

The real stinker is the printing wizard. Not only are the animated instructions incorrect (costing a lot of paper, ink and time), the application insists on running this wizard each and every time you send a project to print!

I have it confirmed from Vivendi Universal (the originator?/publisher?/author? -- the tech support that responds) that: "Unfortunately at this time we have not found a solution to the issue where it keeps redoing the printer setup." Please note that they do not have a mechanism to refund your money either!

Learn from my mistakes: don't buy this product, and don't by anything that has Sierra Software on it!
