The best console out there. Needs more games though!,

I bought the Xbox on the day it was released which was luckily my birthday so technically I didn't buy it at all it was a present! Anyway before I owned the Xbox I normally changed consoles every six months. I've owned the Sega Megadrive, Nintendo 64, PS One and PS2. All I can say is since I've got the Xbox I haven't even thought about changing it!A lot of people slate the Xbox for not having a legion of different games like the PS2. But to be honest the games Xbox does have are excellent and remember the console isn't even 2 years old yet. When the PS2 was first released the only games worth buying were Dead Or Alive 3 and Ridge Racer 4. But now look how many games are out. Things definitely get better with age and Xbox is still going through adolescence!!! In a couple of years the PS2 will be completely outdated and Xbox with have a complete range of different games to satisfy everyones needs. The thing that makes Xbox stand out from the crowd is it's built in features. It has 4 built in controller ports which hasn't been done since the Nintendo 64 then copied by Nintendo GameCube. It has extreme online possibilities unlike the PS2 which virtually takes forever to connect to the web and Xbox by far has the best graphics next to the almighty PC! I do agree Xbox needs a different range of games. At the moment it seems to only have racing games or fighting games! It needs it's own unique versions of historic games like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil. Also it would be nice if Microsoft would quit sharing their games with the PS2 because they have to tone down their graphics to make the game able to play on the PS2. For instance look at the original Buffy The Vampire Slayer game released only for Xbox. The graphics were great then they released the sequel which was available on the GameCube and PS2. The graphics were awful!!! If you've just bought an Xbox and are being put off by other people's negative reviews don't threat because the PS2's graphics are already fading so in a couple of years Sony will need to release the Playstation 3 to save their reputation. As for GameCube apart from Resident Evil they've come up with the lamest cartoon character games ever!!! Here is a list of games worth buying for the console . . . GAMES AVAILABLE NOW : GAMES COMING OUT 2004/2005 :

When I heard Microsoft had entered the video gaming world with their debut console the xbox I didn't really pay any attention and thought it'd bite the dust and choke. I couldn't have been more wrong its a great machine. While it doesn't boost the amount of games the PS2 it does have its own gems. This is also the fastest of the 3 (but hey what are system specs if the games are no good?) here are a few pros and cons PROS fastest of three current consoles great graphics and sound doubles as a dvd player with optional playback kit doesn't need memory cards built in hard drive with 50,000 blocks of memory you can create your own custom soundtrack with certain games cool on screen graphics (after you turn on the system) Xbox live CONS system only comes with a 90 day warranty sign up for the 2 year extended service contract its about $50 but its piece of mind should ANYTHING happen If you decided to get the xbox also consider purchasing logitech wireless controller its the best for wireless fun and no more tangled up wires the price may be a tad steep but its the greatest.

Well xbox is the most powerful game system around , not the ps2 or the gamecube. The xbox can save your games infromation without wasting money on buying a memory Card it got a hard disk to Save the Games and it got a beautiful look it got an xbox signature Jewel in the middle. now let me tell you what this System is all about : and as for the controller S it is smaller and improved , buttons are easier to reach . and as for the games Yeah it doesnt have lots of Exclusives YET just wait because the xbox is newer than the ps2. at the moment you got Halo "the best xbox game", Project Gotham Racing "the Best Racing Game", Brute Force "a must buy for xbox owners", Panzer Dragoon, Jet Set Radio Future "cool Game", Sega Gt2002, Tao Feng, Blinx the time sweeper, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and MORE. and in the Future there are more xbox exclusives Coming Like Halo2 cant wait for it, Project Gotham Racing 2 and So Much More. well if you are a person who is new and Looking for a good Videogame ... if you are a kid You Should Go For GameCube and play with Games Like Mario, Luigi, Star Fox, Zelda, Metroid Prime. or if you are a TeenAger or a mature Person you Should Go to xbox . and as for the ps2 is dont Recommend it . i am an Owner of the three systems (Gamecube, xbox, ps2) and the xbox is the best of them all :) and i say Go For it .

This is a great console, The hard drive was an excellent idea for this system . I loved playing Tony hawk 3 pro skater with my own sountrack which helped to keep game play fresh. My only complaints were that the controller was too big,and earlier systems did not contain the capability to rip tracks off of CD-R's, but microsoft addressed this with the smaller model of controller and also gave the x box the capability to rip music off of CD-R's in newer systems. Many of the big selling games on the PS2 like Grand Theft auto 3 and Vice City that were speculated to be PS2 and pc only have been released on the Xbox with updated graphics and sound which forced me to reconsider purchasing GTA3 for my pc. You smart ps2 fan boys will silence your arguments of ps2 having better graphics then the gamecube and Xbox because you cant argue the fact that the Xbox's video card runs at clock speeds of 233 mgzh which is far superior to your ps2's which means the x box has and can demonstrate graphical capabilities superior to the ps2.The system although heavy is very durable and will stand years of gameplay. Their are many great games and the multi console games are usally superior than their gamecube or PS2 counter parts, though x box does need more RPGS. Ive owned all three of these systems and x box is my favourite, the ps2 is second in my preferences and the game cube comes in last. If you are looking for a fast console that can compare to a decent PC in the graphics department then this is the system for you.

Much better quality than PS2! Some people don't like the controlers for some reason, but if they actually gave them the chance to get used to them, they'd realize that they're actually better designed than the PS2 controller. Ton's of good games, mostly adult oriented (which is awesome). It is better than any duplicate game currently on PS2 as far as graphics, speed, etc. DVD player works very well, but you HAVE to buy the DVD remote kit, you CAN NOT just use the controller as stated in another review.

the xbox is by far the best system. For hardware built in hardrive so you can save games on it and it also lets developers make far bigger worlds and graphics. Now games this year is heaven for xbox halo 2, rainbow six 3 black arrow, fable, bc, sudeki, advent rising, ninja gaiden, full spectrum warrior, the chronicles of riddick, Unreal chanmpion ship the liandri conflict, tom clancys splinter cell 3, star wars knights of the old republic the sith lords, tom clancys ghost recon 2, doom 3, half life 2,........ the list goes on and on and already there is over 400 games so whoever says that xbox has no games they are very wrong. buy xbox.

Xbox beats em all. But for some reason all other reviews say that you cant watch dvd's without the dvd kit.whitch is bobycock if you don't have the dvd kit use the standard controller s or the one that comes with it. IT IS THAT SIMPLE!!!!!

I have owned em all. Xbox is the ONLY one for adults. If you want a kiddie box get the cube, but if you want TRUE gaming and unreal graphics get the Xbox. Forget the Rest!

Does better hardware equal a better system?,

Not by default in my book. I don't yet own an Xbox, but i've played it before and am waiting for some disposable income before I purchase one. I own a PS2 and a Dreamcast, don't plan to get a Gamecube. Ask 3 people if you should get an Xbox or a PS2 and you'll get 4 different answers. The Xbox by far has the best hardware of the two, best online gaming abilities, etc. However, those things were not important to me. I chose the PS2 because of the GTA series (even if the double pack is now out for the Xbox, San Andreas comes out for the PS2 exclusive this fall) and because I could play DVDs without having to pay extra for some remote. The backward compatibility with PS1 games is also nice... but this review is about the Xbox. I think it's a great system but so far I have only played one game that I can call a reason to own an Xbox, and that is Halo, and I assume Halo 2 whenever it comes out will be an added incentive to buy one. However, if I had to choose between the Xbox and the PS2, i would choose the PS2. More versatility, the PS2 exclusive games are more interesting overall to me than the Xbox exclusives are, and graphics aren't everything. |
