All these reviews of this game (below) really upset me because they refer to an "alternate version", which turns out to be a totally different Barbie game than the item shown here.

I've found the same problem with Disney princess games as well.

Anyway, this game plays somewhat similar to the older Barbie Riding Club, riding the horse and solving puzzles, and is suitable for the younger children 4-7 because it is pretty easy.

Choppy graphics and hard to direct horses make this game an absolute failure from the start. My daughter hates it and I don't blame her. What a frustrating experience.

I bought this game for my 4.5 year old daughter. I picked it out because she loves animals and she already has the pet rescue game. She has had the game for over a week now and has played it almost everyday. I still have to play every game with her though because it is difficult for her to navigate the horse and barbie with the arrow keys. She has only just mastered the use of the sling shot and still has a hard time with sorting the food into the barrels. She can do all the other games just fine. I, myself, am tired of the game. There are only so many times I care to travel along the SAME route and talk to the SAME people to find the SAME horse in the SAME spot. BUT my daughter LOVES it! She likes knowing what is going to happen and where to go and is content in just wondering who the new suspect is. She loves the way she can "make" her own horse and change Barbie's clothes but could care less about decorating the winners circle. All in all not a waste of money. If you have the time to sit and play with your child it is worth it.

Okay.... the game is really good... I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 5 though. Using the slingshot can be hard.....but once you get the hang of it it's good. Another thing is sometimes the game can be a little annoying because once you recue Lucky the the horse you've got to rescue, you get the song stuck in your head..... overall, it's a cool game.

I got this game as a birthday present and I am 7 years old. I like grooming and feeding the horse. It is fun when you're trying to find Lucky, but when you have found Lucky I promise you that you will think that it is pretty annoying. This is because you keep the song in your head. I recommend that you don't buy this game because there aren't enough challenges. Once you figure out how to find Lucky there is still only one thing that will be hard for you-- using the slingshot.

The negatives of this game are in its limitations, it's incorectness of riding and horses, and in the fact that you can't do much with the horse (besides watch Barbie ride from behind) other than choose a color and run a brush over it in one area. For little girls who love horses and may have had a lesson or two, it's dissapointing. You aren't able to do things like put the horses tack on, to see the horse from any other angle that from behind it while Barbie is riding, and there are countless errors such as Barbie mounts from the wrong side of the horse only.
My 16 month old daughter thinks its really cool, but once we have run through the ride, it's very boring. Also, there are more games and decorating options than there are horse focused options.

My 5.5 year old daughter got this for Christmas and once she played it she can't stop. She loves that she is solving a mystery. She keeps playing again and again. She solved it fairly quickly but she just loves making the horse run though all the paths. She is now learning to manually jump the horse. This item is well worth the money.

My daughter got this game for Christmas, when we went to install it we found that we needed a 3D video card. Out of 3 computers none of our computers have this card. When checking on the price I found the card costs more than the game.

Nice game idea. Where's the rest of it? My 6 year old solved the "Mystery" in few hours and was left disappointedly looking for more. For the actually play time its not worth the price. Too bad, it looked like it had good potential.

This game is not worth the money. It plays the exact same trail ride, over and over. Sure, the suspect may change, but the game is always the same. After the child plays the game a few days, they are bored with the same senario, over and over. May be fine for the younger child that is o.k. with repetition. My 6 year old is tired of it, after just 3 days! I think you are just buying a name. Game could be much better.
