This album should be everything I hate. It's simple, poppy and kind of annoying. BUT, with new yorks super woman fronting the band, 2 mediocore looking boys that can barely play their instruments, making hash riffs that really are the best that they could be, whats not to love? Karen O sounds like she's going through multiple drunken orgasms while singing such masterpieces as "maps". While the rest of the band plays snappy, poppy guitar riffs that only compliments the whole show. This album is really the best album out there for anyone looking for something new, fun, loud, different, trendy and damn good. Oh yeah... Karen O is hot. Like a Fever.

Wow. All of this music has been made before, albeit by different bands in different eras. Admittedly, Karen puts on a good show, but wow....that voice is not made for lead vocals.Aging fans of Avril Lavene who consider themselves too old for bubble gum punk will not be disappointed. It's like Avril with (gulp) cuss words....that oh-so similar state of bands who borrow their music, lyrics and looks from bands who came before them. And clean cut fraternity boys who have punk rock girl fantasies (but would never cross that line) take heed....Just because you like the Strokes doesn't mean you have to listen to this stuff. Please draw the line somewhere. If you like Karen, buy a poster. If you like dirty rock, buy some Ramones, Stooges or Velvet Underground or something. You'll not only get some good music, but you'll be teaching yourself a little history lesson. Oh yeah...overall...if I must make a comparison....Siouxsie and the Banshees meets a watered down version of the New York Dolls. Ick.

The hype behind the Yeah, Yeah Yeah!'s first ep was amazing. The post punk revolution was upon us and we were ready! There full length album "Fever to Tell" barely hints at the anticipation for us to listen. No disappointments here. Unlessyou happen to hate everything. Buy it. You will not be disappointed.

Well, this CD is well worth your money! It is very different and fresh. The guitar is very edgey and the drums are excellent! I highly recommend it and please do pick it up.

Finally a band has listened to the first two PJ Harvey albums and learned something! (Oddly, I bought this the same day I bought the new PJ album, which is so dull I wanted to throw it out a window.) If there is one word to describe the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, it is "aggresive." The vocals, the drums, and especially the guitars (which are a mix of, again, the first two PJ albums and, believe it or not, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine), made me leave hand imprints on my steering wheel. It makes you want to jettison far into the sea all those stupid bands getting so much radio play these days, or/and so much hype. The Strokes, and all the Blink 182s and Sum 41s and all of these stupid sound-alike bands should hear the death bell ringing for them with this album. If I were in any band but this one right now, I would be embarrassed for how lame I was. Seriously. It's that good. (If you like Maps, though, watch out. It's a great song, too, but it's like feeling good brushing your teeth with an electric toothbrush when the rest of the album is cutting down forests with the world's angriest chainsaw.)

I bought this cd because i heard maps ( like every1) I didn't really like maps much but the cd was very cheap. This cd is like a puzzle missing pieces, karen O likes to make wierd noises, she screams a lot. The cd is not that bad, I like the end of the album because my favorite songs, y control and modern romance are there and also because i know the album is ending pretty soon. If you like to experimenting then get thgis cd but is you have a favorite band and you are missing from that collection, you should but that.

The Yeah Yeah Yeah's suceeded in creating a furious rock album. I find some of the songs to be a bit "loud." But for the most part the album rocks. Karen O has a throaty mid-west sound that's unlike other leads in her genre. What I really like about the cd most is the quick laced guitar chords that fill each song with a blast of Americana rock... the kind of jousty rhythm often found in the old school board music used in movies like Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. This album happily fills a gap in my music collection. Try Black Tongue (Track #5).

I have to admit, when I first purchased this album I didn't care for it much. I put it away for a while and then one day decided to take it back out for another listen. The more I listened to Fever To Tell, the more I liked it. It's a very unique album and can't really be compared to anything else-- "Rich" is an excellent opening track, and probably my favorite on this CD. The way Nick Zinner plays the guitar is really interesting--lots of delay and 5th chords, different tunings, etc. Their sound is rich and full without a bass player because Nick really fills things out with deep and heavy tones. The drums are awesome--most of the time a thumping rock'n'roll beat, sometimes even jazzy--Brian's drumming really helps fill out the guitar. And now, for the vocals: WILD! If you think Jimmy Page and Jack White are wild vocalists, Karen O is their female counterpart. She has the most rockin' voice- she goes into raspy, high-pitched rants in some songs... then, in "Maps", "Modern Romance" and the bonus track at the end, you hear her softer side, but her voice is still no less rock-- it's beautiful in it's uniqueness.Check out this album-- it's really cool, and girls like Karen O make me really proud to be a female rock musician!!

I was looking for some CDs. And I came upon this one. I heard their song maps, and I liked it. When I finnaly bought it and startes listening to it, I was dissapointed. All of the songs seemed to be exactly the same, and from song number 1 to song number 7.I thought it was stilll the same song! They are so incredible alike.. all of the songs have screaming, yelling, chriping, smashing and even orgasm that It's just annoying mess. I still like yeah yeah yeahs a lot, i was just diaapoindent by this particular album of theirs. Hope they do better next time...

Solid Production but Inconsistent Songs,

"Fever to Tell" is a production wonder. Each sound is adjusted to perfection to give the impression of a barebones recording when actually a closer listen reveals the numerous sound layers used (especially Pin). The album suffers from a lack of great songs, and a few are downright horrid. However, I would highly recommend this album to anyone who is not too worried about what others may think of their buying a record by a band signed to a corporate label who present themselves as punks. True, they were probably signed to capitalize on the garage band wave ushered in by the Strokes and White Stripes, but that does not diminish the music. Most songs on the album are good, and hopefully they will hone in on their talents and the next CD will be better.
