5.0 out of 5 stars Razor's Edge - Brian at his bes
This CD may take a couple of listens but it is awesome Thunderstruck's one string rif is amazing Rock your Heart out is almost scary it is so good and are you ready is an imediate entry to any AC/DC fan's top 10 list. Money talks is really good and A MISTRESS FOR CHRISTMAS is really hilarious. the only crumy song I found was shot of love. Any AC/DC fan should have this CD...

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly Overrated
This is one of the best Brian Johnson discs, (probably fourth overall) but about 50% of it is filler, AC/DC at their repetitive worst. Get "Blow Up Your Video" and "For Those About to Rock" first.

at first i didn't know what to think of this cd. it dosen't sound a lot like the other ac/dc albums, but after a year of listening to it i have to say that works to it's advantage.

songs like 'are you ready' and 'rock your little heart out' rock just as hard as anything they did in the early 80's.

also the production values on it are excellent, every instrument sqeak sounds crisp and clean.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've been.. Thunderstruck, May 4 2004

Amazing album that starts off with one of AC/DC's all-time greatest songs "Thunderstruck." The remainder of the album does not approach the unmatched greatness of the first track but the songs are still great. Razor's Edge is a sort of suprise, coming a decade after Back and Black and for me at least resurging AC/DC as a top hard rock band. This is not Back in Black but it is not far below.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, but not their best., April 5 2004
This review is from: Razors Edge (Audio CD)
Razor's Edge by Ac/Dc is a pretty good cd. It has one of the most powerful and energizing openers in "Thunderstruck." Some of the other non-weak things on the cd are "Money Talks "Razor's Edge" "Rock your Heart Out" and "Are you Ready.

Overall I think you should get "Razor's Edge" by Ac/Dc, because there are some great songs on the cd and it is better than anything else played on mtv today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Album, Mar 18 2004

I keep seeing reviews on this album about how it didnt sound like AC/DC... and they didnt like Bruce Fairbairns producing sound... CRAP! this album rocks! the backing vocals sounded awsome! This album has many great hits, and not just the well known by everyone "Thunderstruck"....this album is great if you ask me. A terrific album that launched AC/DC into the 1990's with great force!

Tho, beeing a re-issue it should have had some extra tracks put in, but it doesnt matter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thunderstruck!, Mar 14 2004

I always regarded this as AC/DC's finest hour. Tunes like "Thunderstruck," "Mistress for X-mas" and "Money Talks" are some of the best work this band has ever done. "Money Talks" is an especially ear-jarring affair, and almost adds an element of pop to this usually 1-dimensional band.

Classic line of the ages:

"MONEY TALKS!! BS WALKS!!"
AC/DC - 1991

5.0 out of 5 stars AC/DC Bounces Back Strong, Feb 26 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Razors Edge (Audio CD)
After spending the post-1981 period in musical free-fall, AC/DC bounces back strong with THE RAZOR'S EDGE. The band got its edge back with BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO, and this one continues the improvement. The songs are great, the production powerful, and Brian Johnson sounding more like Bon than ever. If you loved the Bon Scott-erea records, BACK IN BLACK, and FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK, you'll love THE RAZOR'S EDGE.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of their very best, Feb 22 2004

"The Razor's Edge" is not as well known, or indeed as well liked, as "Highway To Hell" or "Back In Black", but it is nevertheless one of AC/DC's very best albums, and certainly their second-best with Brian Johnson.

"The Razor's Edge" rose to #2 on the Billboard 200, and produced three top 20 rock singles, the menacing "Thunderstruck", the formulaic but fun "Are You Ready", and the catchy, anthemic "Moneytalks". And the rest is great as well, all crunchy power chords, big riffs, big hooks, big, dumb, testosterone-powered songs.
Brian Johnson sound as good as he ever did, and lesser-known songs like "Fire Your Guns", "If You Dare", "Shot Of Love", and the title track are better than most of the best songs on AC/DC's mediocre mid-80s albums. There are no weak tracks here at all, and if you only ever buy a handful of AC/DC albums, this should definitely be one of them. "The Razor's Edge" recaptured everything that was great about AC/DC in the 70s and early 80s.
