Another Vivendi LOTR failure,
By
This review is from: The Hobbit (Video Game)
What a joke! This is just as bad as The Fellowship of the Ring game. I really don't see how this game is rated above 1 star. If you want to play a real LOTR game, get EA's Two Towers and Return of the King. Vivendi just doesn't know when to stop. Another useless game that will find its way into the discount bins. Hey it's your money, I just like buying games that are worth the money I spent. Fair warning: rent the fellowship of the ring and the hobbit first before buying!!!

A fun platformer designed for the younger gamer, but challenging enough to kept most adults interested. If you enjoyed the 1970's Hobbit cartoon you'll like this game. The cut scene movies are great, but are almost ruined by the story telling of the book pages between levels. The ending is a bit anti-climatic and does not do justice to the book (or even the great 70's cartoon movie). In all it is a solid platformer and most levels are challenging.

I have just finished this game recently. I spent 7 hours finising from where I was. I was hooked!!! Any game that makes you want to continue playing until your done is worth the money.I do have one problem though. I'm an adventurer. In other words, I'll investigate every nook and cranny of the game to find all of the jewels, or secrets. Problem was in the level called "Inside Information" I made the mistake of finding a Spear, Ruby, Shield, Necklace. Then when I completed that level, and onto the next level, I was asked by some of the dwarves to retrieve these items. Well, when I went back to those places. Guess what, they were gone and they didn't show in my inventory that I received them!!! So, I was unable to fulfill those missions. It's a shame too, no I'll never know what I would've received as a reward!! There is nothing you can do. This is a flaw in the game not in the player. Other than that, I give it 4 stars!!!

When I purchased this game I had really high expectations for it, being a Tolkien fan and all. I was quickly disappointed when about 30 minutes into the game, I realized that the storyline is completely askew to the actual story of The Hobbit. The game has really good graphics and is fun to play, but the overall "quests" they send you on in the game, are somewhat dull at times. I understand that trying to adapt the book into a video game must be quite a feat to accomplish, but I would expect better. I obviously expected too much.

THE BEST GAME,

this game is great. it has alot of diificulty and great graffics. the levels are huge and MUCH different from eachother. i dont know how someone could possibly say you can beat this game a bunch of times over the weekend. you start off in the shire and work your way through middle earth. the levels are huge. there are tons of quests some optional some required. i wish there could be a level select and the levels should be split up into about a 3rd of a level is in this game but thats not enough to really take away from this game. definitely buy it! beware this game is not a completely action game! it focuses alot on solving puzzles and getting around things. it has plenty of action but not a quarter of the action in lord of the rings games.

this was an excellent game to experience. the graphics the game play the voice overs. but the 1 let back is the combat and fighting system even though they had a multitude of enemies its not that exciting. but over all this is a game to get since they didnt have a movie for it and now you get the expierence.

This is an excellent recreation of the Tokien classic, even if you go to the Lord of the Rings movies just to say " Thats not how it happened in the book". This game has excellent graphics, gameplay , and music. I highly recomend it, so please despite the cartoony graphics that many think make it look childish, at least rent it i think you will enjoy it.
