I was very pleased with both the Logitech and the Amazon service. Both saved me a great deal of time and energy. I had bought a cheaper microphone at a well known retail office store. It did not work well. I had to waste time fiddling about with my computer and returning it. Logitech's microphone worked immediately, properly, efficiently. This mic works well as an improvement to a stock standard a/v plug-in mic, or versus a webcam mic. The sound should definitely be much clearer the first time you try it, if you are replacing either of those two items. This will work rather well for simple web chats or quick records.

However, if you are hoping for more, it might be a tad disappointing. The mic is very sensitive, which is good in a way; but, unfortunately it picks up sound from all directions and will even get small taps on the table or unconscious movements of your chair (especially if it has wheels, like mine). Also, I found the pop filter capabilities to be lacking - though it says it has an internal filter as a feature, a lot of pops still come through very loudly for me when speaking directly towards the mic. I have found placing it to the side works to avoid these, but the sound does not end up quite as rich...perhaps I need an external pop filter as well.

Bottom line, if you are looking to do higher end podcasts or video work, this might not be the proper choice. You may need to spend a bit more for a top-firing, higher-end mic. But as a solid USB replacement mic, it fits the bill nicely at a good value.

This a great microphone. It picks up sound from almost anywhere in the room and it transmits it clearly. Amazon had it shipped to me in three days! Excellent product and superb service from Amazon.

I bought this product a little while ago and I am loving it. You may have to tweak settings a bit depending on the program you are using it with since it is quite sensitive and picks up background noise. This is an added benefit however because one does not have to be super close to it while talking. It also works on my Playstation 3 really well. Amazon had a great price, this mic runs in futureshop for about 45 bucks! Got it from amazon for 25!

I should have known by the price that this would be fairly useless for my needs. I needed a microphone for dictation in my office and this one was touted as providing decent quality. It is utterly useless for dictation (no amount of priming it with my dictation software would actually allow it to recognize a thing I said for digital transcription), although I have not used it for other applications such as Skype and it may be acceptable in that setting as I read several positive reviews before I bought it. For me, sadly, a waste of money.
