Canadian Edition?,
By S Alderdice (Calgary, Alberta Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MS Money 2004 Standard (CD-ROM)
I purchased the Canadian Edition of Money. When I began to set it up, I found there was only 1 Canadian bank in the list of Financial Institutions, the other 40 or so were all American. Frustrated at realizing I would not be able to link to my bank, I emailed Microsoft. They suggested I enter the bank information manually. I gave up and uninstalled instead.

Great Product, Wrong Version,
By Shebaya (Montréal) - See all my reviews

MS Money 2004 is a great product to use, with lot of features. But even if it's sold only in Canada (see the description of the product), it's a US-based software.Canadian customers should buy MS Money 2004 Canadian Edition, which is NOT available at Amazon.CA. Also, don't look for a French version of the Canadian Edition, there is none.

Catch 22,
By A Customer
This review is from: MS Money 2004 Standard (CD-ROM)
The Standard version is a good personal finance software if all you are looking for is an electronic checkbook. Misses the key investment portfolio component which is available in the Deluxe version. Unfortunately the Deluxe version is unavailable outside the US (Microsoft or its resellers will not ship it outside the US). If you upgrade to Windows XP you will require to upgrade your Money software as well; most older versions do not work with XP.

I have used MS Money for over a year, and it has really helped me keeps the books balanced. It has great tools and utilities that are user friendly that help you project cash flow, future balances, debt reduction & retirement planner. I really love the product, would never switch back to Quicken.

Undecided,

I received MS Money 2004 Standard already installed on a new laptop. I haven't really explored much more than the portfolio side of it, which is fairly easy to use. A nagging doubt I have though is that the investments and financial institutions seem primarily geard toward the US. For example, for retirement accounts (tax deferred investmests) it gives you options like 401K, 403b, IRA, Keogh, etc and I wasn't able to add any of the Cdn market indexes to my investments watch list. I can't help but wonder if Quicken is more suited to Canadians.
