3.0 out of 5 stars A good value DVD
I don't reget buying this DVD. If you love the Simpsons, this is a good choice.

I agree with the common gripes. Why didn't they release more of the good stuff. A collection of Treehouse of Horror episodes would sell big. I found the lack of good extra's disappointing, too. The DVD seemed just thrown together.

On the plus side, these probably are the best...

On the plus side, these probably are the best epidodes of Treehouse of Horror, for a pretty low price. Number V is probably my favorite, and clinched my decision to by the disc.

I probably would have given this a two, but I think that the low price brings up the rating. The store price is about half the price of the average new DVD. They aren't trying to pass this off as some "special edition" DVD. This is just some of the best episodes of the Simpsons you are going to find on one disc.

3.0 out of 5 stars I smell a rat... I mean, a pigeon-rat!, Sep 2 2003

You can't beat the price and considering the SLOW release schedule of the complete seasons, you could be forgiven for grabbing this disc to tide you...HOWEVER would it have been too much to include Treehouse #3 and #4 (two of the best of the series)?

Also...be advised that while the DVD case pictures Mr. Burns as Dracula, that episode (from Treehouse #4) IS NOT included with this disc. What's the big idea?

Good DVD don't get me wrong, but come on Matt Greonig or who ever has the pull with these DVD releases. Is it too much to ask for a Complete Treehouse of Horror Set?. It doesn't have to necessarily be the entire run thus far, how bout atleast a volume 1 release that contains treehouse 1-10 that would be fantastic. We all know the shear greed of these companies looking for ways to double dip, heck triple dip some of these DVD's, why for the life of me do you put out bart's favourites, or these horrible 4 non relevant to one another episode discs knowing that they're fated for the bargain bins at the walmarts and kmarts. For crying out loud the fans want complete sets of these episodes and we have the money to want to shell out for them...don't you want to supply the demand?

Thats all?I tough people would have more to say.The simpsons are one of the best series on t.v and after 17 seasons they still do amazing holloween episodes.Every simpson fans know that their halloween shows are some of the serie`s best and they are also known by casuals i mean for a fan like me my candys are the simpson`s halloween show.

This is the simpsons at their best their halloween episodes are always good the ones here makes no exeptions.Episodes included are treehouse of horror V,VI,VII,XII.Maybe not the best some will say but great anyway after all the simpsons are recognized for 1.their experience and 2.the halloweens show.Every time it comes halloween i think about the simpsons hallween show.

treehouse of horrorV;a remake of `the shinning` when homer turns crazy because he has no beer and t.v. ,time and punnishment homer goes in the past and change things, nightmare cafeteria when skinner got problems running the cafeteria and sudently fabulous food is served.

treehouse of horrorVI;attack of the 50th eyesore ,when the characters from publicity signs takes life.nightmare on evergreen terace, willy dies and go hunt the kids in their dreams.

homer3;homer discovers a 3rd dimension and gets into crazy places even in the actual world.

treehouse of horrorVII;the season 8 opener. The thing and i,bart discovers his evil twin hugo that was hidded for years and d.r hibbert says that there was a mistake of evil twin it was actually bart.the genesis tube, lisa creates a world while making an experience too bad bart wants to ruin it.citizen clang, the alens kang and kodos takes the place of bill clinton and bob dole to run at the presidential debate.probably one of the best of treehouse.

treehouse of horrorXII;hex and the city, the simpsons go to see a bohemian that tells the future and homer does something that the bohemian will curse him for.House of wacks,The simpsons gets installed a domestic computer that does everithing at heir place, the machine tries to kill homer as it have feallings for marge.Wiz kids,a remake of harry potter ,the kids go to wizard school and gets attacked by lord montymort and slithers.

all amazing!i am waiting for the second treehouse release wich should feature VIIII,X,XI,XII,OR EITHER I,II,III,IV but it be cool that they make like a season set with all of the treehouse episodes that would awesome.if you want the simpsons best it might be the halloween episodes and its a pretty good price for the amazing time youl have with this dvd.no bonus features but the episodes are all we need .Hightly recomended. If you don`t have the dvds buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD, July 16 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror (DVD)
If you are a true simpsons fan you should uy this DVD. It is hilarious, especially at the end of Homer3 when he comes to our world, crawls out of a dumpster, and says, "Oh, this is the worst one yet" I won't tell you how he got there because that would give the plot away. Anyway, you should definintley buy this DVD, especially since it has episodes that come from seasons that aren't out yet, unlike "Christmas with the Simpsons".

5.0 out of 5 stars Treehouse of Humor, Jun 24 2004

Good stuff. Most of the episodes are excellent. As for the editorial review for Amazon, however, the guy mistakenly says that Homer says, "Shh... do you want to get sued?" when it is actually Groundskeeper Willie who says this.

Anyhow, definitely a good buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wise selection of episodes..., Jun 15 2004
This review is from: The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror (DVD)
Unlike the Simpsons' Christmas DVD, which featured a few episodes that had little to do with Christmas, this is a great selection of episodes. Fox used their brains on this one a little bit: it was released a few months after season three was distributed, which meant season four was on the way, so their selections were chosen from seasons 5-8 (season eight was the last truly GREAT season). Since season five probably won't be available until spring/summer of next year, this would be a great investment. Not only is it relatively cheap, but you can take comfort in the fact that you own every great Treehouse of Horror episode.

No matter what was going on in the world of television for the past fifteen years, the Simpsons was always the achilles heel of critics and TV lovers. It's been the most popular show on television since 1990 and even the non-conformists can't deny it's entertainment value. That's gotta count for something.

Get the boxed sets first, of course. But after that, go nuts with this one.
