5.0 out of 5 stars What else would I drive? A gay van?
Forget what all the bad reviewers say, this movie rules. The mom who said this movie is practically porn is obviously a religious fundamentalist, I think there's like one scene with nudity, pretty much the norm for PG-13 and up movies nowadays. If you're only into CKY for its stunts, you won't see any in this.

This movie is so overrated by everybody! It feels like everybody likes it cause it is the cky-guys in it. I mean what's so good about it? They're really bad actors and manuscript isn't that good either! I actually thought this movie was boring like 80% of it, the rest was just a little funny! And there was not much of the jackass "stunts" as I was hoping. But if...

This is a perfect date movie because the whole thing is about relationships which I know kind of makes it a chick flick, but its hilarious. Ryan Dunn is surprisingly a good actor! Brandon's character is kind of annoying, Bam plays some typical fantasy role of his, Raab's cameo is probably the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars If I could give it 100 stars I would, July 10 2003

This is the funniest movie I have seen in years. This is Bam Margera's first "Real" Movie (CKYs 1-4 rock). He co-wrote, directed, filmed, starred, and bankrolled the whole thing. That's what makes this movie so great. It was done by real people. The whole CKY crew stars in it, plus tons of cameos from the skate world.
The movie is based off of Ryan (Random Hero) Dunn's real life love life. He plays the main character that has just been dumped by his girlfriend, "Glauren" (Jenn Rivell). He thinks she is the best woman in the world but everyone else knows she is the town jezebel. Ryan can't get over her and starts to freak out when he finds out she is dating a guy named "Hellboy" (Rake Yohn). His friends Valo (Bam) and Falcone (Bran DiCamillo) are there to vandalize, spy and plot against Glauren and Hellboy while Ryan goes nuts pining away for her.
Tony Hawk plays a cop who busts Ryan. Jason Ellis plays a crazed record store employee who tries to annihilate Hellboy. Bucky Lasek, Brandon Novak, Tosh Townsend, Hoofbite, and even Bam's grandfather all have cameo roles in it.
The cinematography is really cool. The dialogue is so twisted funny. The music is great. Lots of -HIM-, CKY and good old fashioned death metal. Plus the bonus stuff is just as good as the movie. If you are a Bam fan, a CKY fan, even a HIM fan, buy this movie! Buy 2 copies incase you break one from laughing to hard. -roCK You-

This is by far the best movie I have seen in a long long time.... I bought it used at the video game exchange in town and bought it just because it had bam margera in it..... Thinking just because it has all the cky buddies in it, its gotta be good right? It wasnt just good it was amazing..... I was actually thinking that it wasnt going to be all that great..... like how could a couple of jackasses..... make an actual movie? It blew me away..... The whole movie is just great.... its hilarious with all of its stupidity and randomness and was actually very well written..... id recomend it to anyone unless your old and thing this kind of stuff is stupid and immature...... which is exactly what it is and thats why i love it!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Could've been much more then this., Jun 20 2004
This review is from: Haggard (Unrated Version) (DVD)
I had high hopes for this after reading many reviews and hearing about how the plot was pretty much true according to Ryan Dunn. What we got was basically an overlong skip we'd see on a CKY video or something. Random-ness comes and goes in some very pointless segments and scenes. There is alot of funny, funny parts involving Ryan, Bran, Don Vito and Mark Hanna. But the rest is just a mishmash of a loose love story gone totally wrong. The last 7 minutes is a sex-fantasy type compilation of Bam and some girl making out, Jenn Rivell (Bam's legit girlfriend) and another girl having sex and Ryan making it with another random girl. But what's funny is in fact FUNNY. Good stuff with Raab who plays a COMPLETE retard the whole film. Don Vito plays this Caligula-type suburbanite who seems to give Dunn alot of crap (if you've seen Vito before you'll know) also some very random scenes with Phil beating up Dunn and Mark Hanna laughing nonstop or just acting like a fool. There's good skits with some pro skaters like Tony Hawk for one, Mike Mal in one scene, Bucky Lasek and Tim o Connor. But this is a MOVIE not a skate video.

Another thing I didn't like about this was the constant use of that band HIM. HIM is just a gothic rock group with a few good and bad songs, but every other song is either a HIM song or Bran with CKY (there's one good Stooges song for a good part though) but I didn't like the overkill of the band HIM, just because it's Bam's favorite band doesn't mean we have to hear it every other scene.

I can't recommend it because this is impossible to rent, so buy if you're a hardcore fan. Just don't get your hopes too high. I hope the CKY crew can make another movie sometime, because this DID in fact have some good camerawork and editing.

5.0 out of 5 stars pure genius, Jun 15 2004

This review is from: Haggard (Unrated Version) (DVD)
Definately, definately good stuff... contrary to what some people believe, this movie isn't just for immature teens. It's simply the Jackass crew growing up and doing something better than beating the hell out of eachother. They're finally maturing and it's an amazingly good thing. The acting in this is fantastic, suprisingly. I never would have guessed that these guys actually were good actors. Definately a must buy for not only Jackass buffs, but regular people looking for a good laugh... by far the best part is the mention of "Key-Key" by Raab...

2.0 out of 5 stars Low brow juvenile and unfunny, Jun 8 2004
By
Gord Muir (Victoria, BC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Haggard (Unrated Version) (DVD)
I watched this movie on the strength of other reviews that rated it highly. I should have read more closely and paid attention to the Jackass connection. If you like Jackass you'll probably like this but who likes Jackass except jackasses.

The 'entertaining' bits include (...) the main character is stabbed in the eye with a fork and another hilarious piece has an unknown bit actor laughing histerically at absolutely nothing. If this sounds good to you then go for it and get the movie.

On the other hand if this sounds like juvenile humour aimed at immature boys between 12 and 16 and you're not in that group then my advice is to avoid this movie and rent something that at least has entertainment value. This movie has no value at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great movie, great bonus, May 31 2004

This review is from: Haggard (Unrated Version) (DVD)
Haggard is a great movie! I won't spend a bunch of time explaining the plot because it's been done to death. The storyline was great, hilarious in fact. Bam did a great job (was there ever any doubt?). I LOVED the "Making of Haggard" bonus feature. It was very funny as well, but the end of it throws you for a loop. It gets into Brandon Novak's addiction to heroine and how Bam, Ryan and the guys help him deal with it. My respect for these guys skyrocketed! BUY THE DAMN MOVIE!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought it would be..., May 6 2004
By
This review is from: Haggard (Unrated Version) (DVD)
I was so pumped up to get this movie, and when I finally did I was let down big time...Bam tries to act to hard and Dunn is always trying to act like an actor even in Jackass...However, DiCamillo is always entertaining to watch. But the most unexpected great performance was from Chris Raab. He does an OUTSTANDING job playing RAAB in the movie. His character is just amazing. I never would've thought that he would steal the show...Him and DiCamillo have great chemistry on screen and I think they should definately get a break...
