5.0 out of 5 stars Action packed fun
It may be a little cheesy to older viewers, but if you're like me, Power Rangers was your world when you were a kid. The action is fun, the effects are amazing, the actors are all VERY beautiful people, and its just general fun for the family. If you need a day to just escape, this movie is good to watch. Plus it has Kimberly(Amy Jo Johnson) who is VERY beautiful and the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just the film...
This DVD is just the film. No significant special features or commentaries. Honestly though, I am a little biased, I loved this movie because I watch it 999 times when I was a kid, I don't care of cheesy or bad it is lol. Only 3/5 because this movie holds a special place in my heart.

C'est pas le meilleur mais c'est pas le pire des films de Power Rangers. Il manque un peu de fil conducteur.

When this movie came out when I was a kid, I doubled over with excitement because it was state of the art and just downright awesome. Recently, I watched it again, except now I'm grown, and I couldn't help but laugh at the cheesiness of the movie. The reason I give it four stars is because overall, I remembered what it was like to be a kid again, imagining the possibility of these things and how cool the Power Rangers really were in their day. I would recommend it for nostalgic reasons; not for entertainment because it is over 10 years old and is, officially, cheesy.

5.0 out of 5 stars GO GO POWER RANGERS, YOU SUPER FANTASTIC POWER RANGER!!!, April 3 2004
By A Customer
As the biggest Power Rangers fan in the world, I know that this movie is totally awesome!!! Thee Power Rangers' new costumes and zords are totally rad, the plot is great, and the humor is even better. I like the part where the rangers are ready to skydive and Bulk and Skull get freaked out and Aisha tells them that they should put on their airbag thingies and they said, "Good Idea." I also like when the Rangers are fighting Ivan Ooze's purple creepos and Billy gets slime all over his hand and says, "You Ooze You Lose." Well, that's true because Ivan Ooze oozes allot and the power rangers beat him bad!!! I recommend this movie wheather your 3, 63, inbetween, or even older than 63!!! This movie is great!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool movie for a cool series, Dec 28 2003

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
INTRODUCTION:
The Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was a classic sci-fi action series that debuted on FOX in 1993. This series tells the story of five teenagers who are given superhuman abilities to battle an evil empress who has her sights set on destroying the world. The series lasted for a number of seasons, and has spawned at least half a dozen spin-offs (all of which are inferior to this, the original series.) The series became wildly popular almost immeadiately, so just about two years after it debuted, a feature film was released! Read on for my review of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers - The Movie.

BASIC PLOT:
This episode takes place between seasons two and three of the classic series. Lord Zedd has set out to resurrect an evil entity from hundreds of years ago called Ivan Ooze. He succeeds in this, but discovers that Ivan has a mind of his own. He imprisons Lord Zedd and Rita in a glass jar, and sets his sights on destroying the earth. He destroys the command center, which causes the Rangers to lose their power. Also, Zordon's glass jar was broken in the process, meaning he will die soon. Alpha says that there is enough power left to teleport them to a distant world where they can get a new source of power, and maybe save Zordon's life, but there's a problem. There isn't enough power to bring them back. If they fail to get the new power source, they'll be stranded on a distant world. They accept the task, and Ivan sets his sights on causing universal destruction.

FILM OPINIONS:
This is a pretty cool movie. Sure, it's very cheesy by modern standards, but back when I was a kid this stuff was state of the art. For the film, the Rangers outfits, the Command Center, and the city of Angel Grove, and the Rangers weapons got huge makeovers - and all for the better too. Only problem is these things only took on their new appearances for the movie - they didn't stay that way for the new season of the series. I bet that confused a lot of people! Although the plot has been done to death in the movie industry (there are enough "I want to destroy the world" movies out there), it's still a cool film.

OVERALL:
If you can find this movie for a good price, it's a worthwhile diversion from all of the junk that has been flooding the motion picture industry recently. If you're going to watch the Power Rangers, make sure it's the classic series - and not those lame spin-offs FOX has been showing in recent years.

SIDE NOTE:
The movie has recently been released on DVD, as a double feature with one of the movies for a later Power Rangers series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power Rangers: The Movie, Dec 2 2002
By
Amanda (California, USA) - See all my reviews
Ok, I know they're like so many people who hate Power Rangers and thinks it's ONLY for kids. But I've seen almost all of teh seasons of the show and it's actually pretty good. Has some not-so-good moments sometimes but that's OK. I'm 15, and I still watch it. The movie, Oh it was one the movies that I absolutely found adorable. The actors are great, the special effects are great(considering it was in 1995!), the jokes I loved, especially Adam!!("I'm a Frog..." Awww!!) Ivan Ooze it funny and Rita and Zedd are even there! Which just adds to the jokes. I especially loved the zords and the new Command Center. Why didn't they just keep it like this through out the rest of the season?! This movie is great for the family, and if some people weren't so close-minded about these types of movies(or shows) they could lear to appreciate it at least, and not be so repuled by it. It's actually isn't that bad. BUY/RENT IT!

4.0 out of 5 stars Memory Lane, Nov 1 2002
By A Customer
When I was little I always used to watch Power Rangers. The ones with Jason,Zack,Billy,Trini,Tommy, and Kimberley. It was my favorite show. I loved the movie. Then now in the morning that on Fox Family they have the best of Power Rangers. I decided I better rent the movie for old time sake. It may be cheesy but that what i grew up watching. When they came out with Power Rangers turbo I started to watch it but lost interest cause it just isn't the same as it use to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars ranger review, Jun 4 2002
By A Customer
I started watching power rangers when it premiered in 1992 or 1993(i forget). I absolutely loved the show and never missed an episode until the turbo series, which,in my opinion,is when most of the original fans lost interest. However, I recently got interested in it again when I saw the new series wild force. It's a lot better than some of the other series that began since zeo, such as lost galaxy or lightspeed rescue. I recently saw the movie again and remembered why i used to enjoy the show so much. The special effects are MUCH better than the show, and they don't use the same action footage over and over again like the show did. If you're a power rangers fan, i highly recommend this!
