5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Firm fan
I have had this workout a few weeks and am really enjoying it. I mix it up with other Firm workouts among other things.

I do think the intensity level, especially for cardio, is quite a bit lower than some of the older Firm tapes. However, it is still challenging enough for me (an intermediate level aerobics person) to get up a good sweat.

I did get the Fanny Lifter...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Workout, but not exciting
This is undoubtedly a great overall workout. However, I don't find myself wanting to do it as often as some of my other DVDs and videos because the instructors and the overall tone of it seems stiff/fake to me. I'd say that's true about the whole "The Firm" series though. So if you like the rest of the series, you'll probalby be fine with this too. They just...

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a Firm fan, Jun 28 2004

This review is from: Firm: Body Sculpting System 2: Complete Aerobics & Weight Training (DVD)

I did get the Fanny Lifter as I think it adds a lot to the Firm workouts (although this workout only did one or two sets of step-ups with the Lifter). I don't think the sculpting stick is needed for this one. The twigs can be duplicated by using 16 oz. cans from the kitchen, and I think using the stick for balance actually lessens the intensity of some of the exercises.

As others have mentioned, I'm not sure I like the production of the newer Firm workouts as much. The workout participants seem even more smiley and plasticky and fake than usual. The main instructor on this workout, though, is very good. Cues are spot-on, and she is upbeat without being overly peppy.

I'd recommend this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another top-notch Firm workout, Jun 23 2004

This is another effective Firm workout that is both challenging, fun, yet doesn't aggravate my bad back. My only beef with this workout is that the instructor, Emily, keeps saying "whoo" throughout the workout. Ease up on the fake-sounding enthusiasm. But the workout itself is great. I definitely recommend the Fanny Lifter with all these new tapes. This tape doesn't rely on the Sculpting stick too much so you could get away without it and not lose much effect.

i have several of the Firm on VHS, they are an excellent tape to get into aerobic weight training. i love the interval training concept as i do not have the attention span for workouts that its just all one thing repeated like say step. the interval part keeps me from quitting as i know i wont be doing say ABS or LUNGES for very long and its on to the next exercise. i bought this workout on DVD to spring myself into getting back into working out and its really helped me stay on track and found this an excellent fun workout i especially love the cardio kickboxing. i look forward to doing this workout and have recommendeed it to several friends who have asked me how i'm losing my weight as consistantly as i have been.. i'm VERY happy to say i see continuing results, at firsti took it easy and did some of this workout but over time i did add segments and still do not do the whole workout mostly cause i would like to be able to MOVE the next day. its an exceleent workout.. Emily is a wonderful instructor and would like to see more firm workouts taught by her. good luck to anybody starting an exercise plan!

The only thing that this workout needs when you are doing it is some good company to exercise along with you, otherwise from that, this is one killer workout.
I was considering spending some money that i didn't have and going to the gym, but a friend of mine loan me this dvd and i am hooked, i am sticking to the 10 day regime and see what happens. Right now i am on day five and i have seen results. This is one dvd i WILL recommend. i am about to buy another one or two of The Firm and let you guys know about it.

This works...Great for advanced/intermediate levels. Beginners as well, as long as they follow the modified movements. Excellent weight training for the thighs and upper body.

I have a couple of Firm DVD's and have to say that this one is by far the best! It is a good, hard 60 minute workout that works every part of your body. I wish that the ab section was a little longer, but overall I really enjoyed this workout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent Workout!!!, April 30 2004
By A Customer
This workout is one of my favourites! I still need to use the pause button but I am progressing nicely. The workout gives a great mix of cardio and weights. Just when I think I am getting too winded Emily switches to a new exercise and I can recover without wasting time. I love the length, it is a full hour. If you do this video consistantly, you will see results. I did in about 8 workouts!! I highly recommend this one as an addition to your fitness library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, intense, but difficult for beginners!, April 1 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Firm: Body Sculpting System 2: Complete Aerobics & Weight Training (DVD)
I have just begun my Firm experience and I have started out with this tape. It seems to be a great tape and will most likely give great results but it will take time to actually accomplish the tape from start to finish. I feel there is definitely room for improvement with this tape and the other tapes that I have tried from the firm, such as making it easier for beginners by putting the person I am supposed to follow in the front instead of the back row where I can barely see her. The cardio parts move very fast and I have had to stop and rewind to practice the routine. It would be nice if there were a segment in the beginning that will go over the routine slowly. Also the transition between moves seems a bit awkward but like I said after rewinding over and over again, I finally got the first cardio routine, now I have to work on the second part which seems much harder. The fanny lifter seems to be a great tool but you really need to be coordinated and since I am not I have come close to breaking my neck but I have faith that after practice I will master it. So I would definitely recommend this tape to someone. I just wish that there were a tutorial for beginners. Oh and after buying all the gear needed for these tapes, which is kind of pricey, I think it would be a nice courtesy to at least give us free membership to their website and the message boards which is 30.00 dollars a year on top of the 100 I spent on the fanny lifter, the sculpting stick and the tapes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Boy...instant muscles, Feb 20 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Firm: Body Sculpting System 2: Complete Aerobics & Weight Training (DVD)
I enjoyed the little cardio session they provided in the middle of the DVD. If you want instant muscles and nut cracking thighs, this is definitely for the candidate ^_^ The instructor was very upbeat and instructed smoothly during the sessions. Enjoy ;) Another addition to my fitness library.
