5.0 out of 5 stars gimme a break...Great CD
this Cd is definitely the dogs best since 'its dark and hell is hot'.. the intro is crazy, ayo kato, dogs out, where the hood at, the song with eve, all are bangin. Best CD since 50 Cent's Get rich or die trying. Glad to see the improvement since the last cd and hopefully the next will be even better

3.0 out of 5 stars DMX lacks proper text...
Dmx has not tried to perfect his game, and change it with this constantly changing rap world. And Dmx with this album shows that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Dmx keeps his simplistic style of lyrics (barely any) hes mostly a kind of bounce musician if u need somethin in the club to bounce to his beats mostly got that punch, but barely anything really touching...

This review is from: Grand Champ (Audio CD)Dmx has not tried to perfect his game, and change it with this constantly changing rap world. And Dmx with this album shows that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Dmx keeps his simplistic style of lyrics (barely any) hes mostly a kind of bounce musician if u need somethin in the club to bounce to his beats mostly got that punch, but barely anything really touching the soul deeply. I really can't feal x anymore the thirty year old rapper is still going at at and props to that but his anchor song "Where the hood at" has even less lasting then his last hit "X gonna give it to ya". Even the inclusion of 50 cent an P styles in "Shotdown" still doesn't make this a worthy album. Not all this album is that bad "Ayo kato" is aight where he talks bout how he lost his dog kato presents passion and despair through the lyrics of that song. Anyway Dmx is really not at the top of his days, new guys got this rap world gripped. Grand champ is not all that bad, but if theres any album to buy you should grab Obie Trice's "cheers" to see what real rap is.
5.0 out of 5 stars DMX is da GRAND CHAMP!,
This review is from: Grand Champ (Audio CD)In X's 5th album he uses a very dynamite style! Every song is very creative in a unique rap flavour. In the songs WHERE THE HOOD AT and HERE I COME he uses brillaint lryics and cleary shows he is still one of the best rappers today or even all time. This has to be one of the best albums of the year.DMX is back in a big way, he will make people think The Great Depression wasn't even made.Don't think that because there is a dog on the cover that this is a cheesy album because THE GRAND CHAMP IS A KILLER ALBUM AND YOU BETTER GO GET IT!!!!!!!!
3.0 out of 5 stars Has Its Good Moments,
4.0 out of 5 stars i dont give a what!?,
This review is from: Grand Champ (Audio CD)good songs, all of them. too bad this is his last albume =(
2.0 out of 5 stars Boring,
This review is from: Grand Champ (Audio CD)This is not DMX. It's the person, but it's not the spirit that we've felt in his previous albums. Almost every song on here is either album cuts or filler. These are the only songs I like.
"My Life"- This is a good song despite what other critics may say. It's the theme for "Never Die Alone", DMX's new(best) film.
"Where The Hood At"- Tight beat and good two verses, but the third is so brutally explicit that it's not even interesting to hear.
"Shot Down"- Probably the only good guest appearences(with the exception of Eve and 'Kiss) from 50 Cent and Styles P.(the most underrated rapper of all time). Nice three verses from all rappers.
"We're Back"- A good song with fellow RuffRyders Jadakiss and Eve. Very tight song.
"Ayo Kato"- The most decent song on the album. X talks to his dead friend.
Overall, these are the only good songs. This is a horrible album, but these songs are pretty good. Overall though, DMX needs to study the material of his old days, and figure out what the problem was on this trash.

3.0 out of 5 stars 5x Grand Champ!,

This review is from: Grand Champ (Edited) (Audio CD)Next to Eminem, DMX is my favorite rapper/actor. I have all his cd's 'cept the first 2 and they are great. But then I heard this one. Not so good. Only about 5 to 6 tracks were worth a listen. "The Prayer" follow-up skit was great, and the "Thank-U" message to God was real good. But then u get to "Where The Hood At" and the lyrics did a 360. They changed em' so bad, even a saint would want to hear it "explicit". The word "ni***'", was edited waaay to strongly. After all, DMX is black,so he CAN say it if he wants. But the Censores think not obviously. Anyway, it is a ruined song. The whole album feels largely rushed in a bad way. I gave it three stars because there are some excellent songs, but unless u really like X', then don't waste your money. Most songs are just repeats of the same old messages. Well, anyway, it's an okay album.
2.0 out of 5 stars not as good as his other cds,
