I know the song "the wait" from metallica is in the film but not on the soundtrack. Maybe that's the one you want?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Soundtrack; a must have for Jack Black fans, July 16 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: School of Rock (Audio CD)
Jack Black is in one of his best performance's since "Orange County". The kids are AMAZING; they actually play their own instruments on the "School of Rock" and "Long Way to the Top" songs. The music for the movie was well picked, not to wild, but not too sedated. Perfect for a lesson on rock. While the soundtrack has many of the songs in the movie, the producers seem to have left out ACDC's "Back in Black." What's up with that? How can you put in low-talent No Vacancy's songs but forget one of rock's greatest hits? It's a mystery to me. But the more important thing is how much the kids rock. I've been singing the song "School of Rock" for months. My family knows the lyrics to practically every song. It's a great little album to get someone for their birthday.

4.0 out of 5 stars For those about to rock..., July 12 2004
This review is from: School of Rock (Audio CD)
"Rock got no reason/rock got no rhyme/you just better get me to school on time," Jack Black sings on the opening track, the aptly titled "School of Rock." This song and the closing number, a remake of AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock n Roll)", are the two best songs on here...perhaps because the stars of the movies played on them. I dunno.

But that's not to say that the rest of these songs aren't without merit. Hailing from the past and present (from The Who to The Darkness), these are seventeen great rock songs: maybe not the epitome of rock n roll, but damn close.

The two No Vacancy songs ("Fight" and "Heal Me, I'm Heartbroke") stand out, as does The Darkness's "Growing on Me." Stevie Nicks rocks her rugged vocals through "Edge of Seventeen," while Led Zeppelin chews it up on "Immigrant Song."

This is, without a doubt, an album for fans of rock n roll. I reccoment seeing the movie, too. Speaking of which...the movie excerpts fit in nicely, especially "Your Head and Your Mind and Your Brain." Almost like watching the movie while listening to the soundtrack.

"School of Rock" is an awesome CD. Made for cranking the volume way up loud. Get ready to rock out, ladies and gents...or maybe play some air guitar!

4.0 out of 5 stars to "a music fan", Jun 22 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: School of Rock (Audio CD)
The song you mean is "chain of fools." The "chang chang chang" is really "chain chain chain." It's an old Aretha Franklin song that is often butchered by American Idol contestants...

This is a great album. I love the Ramones song "Bonzo goes to Bitburg." I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who likes good rock music.

I thought it was great, I love the 1st song! It didn't have a bunch of the other songs though. I Love the movie, everyone in my grade at my school has seen it; A bunch of boys started saying Loosey Goosey all the time.
