Anybody reconize that quote...it's from Vert, the cool hotwheel guy. I have more because I have seen the movie about a million times...my 3 year old is obsessed. It is though a good movie, tied in with the racing are lessons about teamwork, friendship and loyalty. The animation on it is great, the dialoge is clean and kid-friendly and dude, it's hotwheels. II think I may be losing my mind though because I am starting to talk along with the movie.

Wow, what fun! Alot of bang for the buck. A great movie for Hot Wheels fans both young and old and a nice handfull of extras for a side order. Man, those cars can do everything that I've been making 'em do for 35 years. A good story with a good lesson, taught by interesting characters and some of the Hottest custom Wheels.WARNING: Give yourself some cool down time before jumping behind the wheel.

This is a very good movie and it forms the foundation for the next 4 Hot Wheels movies. It is a bit long and the animation is a bit dated, but my 4 year old son absolutely loves it!

My 3 year old son can't get enough of this movie. The first thing he wants to do every morning is to watch "his" movie. He has watched it so much that he knows the whole movie word for word. He uses his own hot wheel cars and pretends that they are in the race. It is definitely a family movie. Fortunately my husband, myself, and my teenage daughter all enjoy it too, since my son wants to watch it so much. It is much better than some of the shows on t.v. It has real good morals which is very important to us.

I got this movie and was very disappointed. My 4 year-old was excited about the movie and enjoyed it the 1st time he watched it. After that, it didn't hold his attention anymore. The story is too contrived and isn't realistic enough. My advice...rent this movie at the video store and save some money!

I actually caught this movie on Cartoon Network by accident - AND LOVED IT!!!! I saw Mainframe made it and should have known how good it would be. I'm a little car-crazy and REALLY enjoyed the sights and SOUNDS of this movie.

An interesting series involving Hot Wheels cars and a racing competition to decide the greatest racer in the world. I watched it on Cartoon Network and I was like "DAMN! Look at these stunts!" Although this is good it doesn't quite have that edge-of-your-seat thrills that other series include. But that's about the only downside I see in this series. Personally, I love Hot Wheels cars but now since they make crappy Hot Wheels race sets I don't buy any of 'em. Still, this a great series and anyone who like racing, action, and thrills will love this.

My Boys Love It,

I have two boys (2 & 4 yo). All they ever want to do is play with Hotwheels Cars. The always get tons of cool stuff at Christmas but Hotwheels are their favorite. I rented this movie and they've watched it at least 6 times a day for the last 3 days on their own TV. It's the most peaceful time we've had in the last 4 years :-) That's why I'm looking on Amazon now to buy a copy. I don't know what's going to happen next Sunday when we have to return the movie to Blockbuster.OK, most adults would probably think it was a terrible movie... but it's not for adults... it's for kids! Any kid who has a box full of Hotwheels cars will recognize the vehicles and tracks. And unlike most kids movies, it actually has some sort of story.

OK, I'm a 32 year-old male who grew up with Hot Wheels. Not surprisingly, my three boys (ages 3, 5, & 7) love to play with them and have more of them than I care to admit. We have a couple of the Hot Wheels books, and they are simply dreadful. They seem as if they were written by someone for whom English is a second language. Considering this, I had low expectations for the movie, of which I knew nothing about until we rented it.I was pleasantly surprised, and even found myself getting into it a little bit. The animation was quite impressive, with movement of the cars especially realistic. Animation of fast-moving things like cars is usually quite poor, but not in this case. Anyway, this movie basically puts to screen what every little kid who plays with Hot Wheels imagines. It shows people actually driving those outrageously designed cars! On tracks with loops and jumps, just like the playsets! What could be better? It is true that the storyline has a number of fantastical and highly unrealistic content. But please remember, this is aimed squarely at little kids, so realism isn't really something the target audience is expecting. It also seems quite long, but even my three year-old was entertained the entire time, even on the third viewing. There is even a light moral to the story and a sub-plot about family loyalty. Definitely worth the purchase price. |
