5.0 out of 5 stars "Hello Seattle...I'm listening!"
This is the second season of the record-breaking sit-com that redefined modern psychiatrics. Kelsy Grammer IS Frasier Crane, the tight-a*sed, prim and proper scholar with an answer to everything. The big twist: There has never been a psychiatrist with a worse personal track record, living a life of daily turmoil and frequent disaster.

Although this is the second...

Apparantly this show was on for 11 years and won 31 emmy's or oscar's or i forget what, so it'd be hard to say that it was overlooked, but I never paid attention to it until the end of the series and I missed out. Apparantly this show was on for 11 years and won 31 emmy's or oscar's or i forget what, so it'd be hard to say that it was overlooked, but I never paid attention to it until the end of the series and I missed out. The special features are stupid as all hell (dating tips especially) but the episodes are the reason people buy the stuff. Notable ones are The unkindest cut (disc 1), the club (disc 3), fool me once shame on you fool me twice (disc 3) and the matchmaker (disc 1).
There's an episode where Frasier continues to insist that men in general are trustworthy and then he gets betrayed. And there's one where he takes a call from a guy who's afraid to use the phone (that's at the beginning of the club). And there's an episode about confused sexuality. It's funny. Most spin-off's of tv shows don't work, but this spin-off of Cheers definitely did.

Although this is the second season, with the main characters and supporting cast firmly established, we still see known characters introduced to each other for the first time. In other words, the "warm-up" is still on. Many memorable episodes are included, most noteworthy the one where Martin Cran (the father) solves a 20 year old murder case. Niles is finding ever-new excuses to show up at Frasier's apartment, just to be near the housekeeper Daphene, whom he is secretly in love with (although everyone else is aware of it).

This is a full season of one of the funniest sit-coms, always sweetly seasoned with some emotional moments. The writing is superior, honored with many Emmys, as is the brilliant acting of an ensemble cast. This is truly the creme de la creme of comedy (Frasier would like that senstence). Highly recommened!*****

If you're a Cheers fan,and enjoyed the first season of its spinoff Frasier, this item is for you. Here are more adventures of the hilarious and occasionally wise-cracking psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent comedy and a great cast..., May 4 2004
This review is from: Frasier: Season 2 (DVD)
Frasier is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. That being said, I was thrilled when I found out it was coming to DVD. There are some terrific episodes on this set, such as "The Innkeepers, " where Frasier and Niles' attempt to run a restaurant with haute cuisine goes spectacularly awry. There are many others that people have already mentioned, so I don't need to go further, just watch the set!

To my great sadness, the show will be ending after this season, but major kudos to Paramount for releasing Frasier on DVD so we can retain the laughs and the memories forever!

Frasier's second season was incredibly solid; no single episode can be viewed as a "weak link". More uncomfortable situations, more Daphne/Niles tension, more more more!

Extras: The commentary and extras were really interesting, but some of the extras were just montages of snippets from the shows rather than any sort of commentary or explanation. (eg, I know how great Eddie is, but I wish I could've seen more footage of him being trained, or interviews with his trainer). I'm glad the extras were more solid than in Season 1, but I'd always love more, of course! The packaging is really nice and sturdy.

Biggest complaint (and again the reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5): No sub-titles. The closed-captions are there, but on many TVs it's impossible to bring those up without muting the TV, which somewhat defeats the purpose. That said, though, the audio is generally very easy to understand and I wished for subtitles only on a handful of occasions.

Can't wait for seasons 3 and beyond!

5.0 out of 5 stars good show, Mar 17 2004
This review is from: Frasier: Season 2 (DVD)
For a 14 year old, you wouldn't expect me to be into this show. But I find it to be hilarious! My mom is a huge Frasier fan and now she's made me one. Once she bought Season 1 on DVD, I watched all the episodes crying with laughter. And when she bought Season 2, I laughed even harder. This season is definitley worth your cash. It's even better than the first season. And has some great bonus material. If you love Frasier and want to watch something that will leave you in tears, then get this. Some of my favorite episodes on this season that will leave you laughing so hard are:
Daphne's Room - I had to watch it over and over again because it was just so damn funny.
The Inkeepers - Niles and Frasier buy a restaraunt. And total chaos rises!
Flour Child - Niles is thinking about having a child w/ Marice but isn't sure. So he gets a bag of flour and treats it like a baby!
There are so many more episodes on this season that are great and hilarious. Now stop reading this and go buy it now!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have..., Mar 6 2004
This review is from: Frasier: Season 2 (DVD)
Frasier is a gem and in a tv world that is often bland, You take ideas and notions that might seem snobby and you mixed them with a unique, irreplaceable cast and you get laugher and smiles that are far and deep in you belly.

Frasier rocks, there is not doubt about that.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best shows., Mar 4 2004
This review is from: Frasier: Season 2 (DVD)
The second season is as good as the first season. Includes many of my favorite episodes including the acclaimed fans favorite "The Matchmaker."

Has extra material on the forth disc including cast interviews etc.

Overall great quality and 24 episodes for that price is a great deal, actually a price reduction from the first season. Good to know as the quality remains constant, the price reduces. Season 3 comes a few bucks lower in May 2004.

A witty show which keeps the laughter coming.
