A Bargain Compilation from 3 already released discs, Jan 8 2009

This two disc set is a compilation from at least three previous releases by the Tallis Scholars. The first release is Christmas Carols and Motets. The second release is the Sarum Chant disc. The complete mass is by Clemens non Papa (Clemons who is not the pope)and the compilation presents most of the material from that disc. There is other material on these two discs as well. This two disk set is a bargain, from a group that in it's time was either the best choral group in the world or one of the best in the world. (The Sixteen had some of the same people singing for them, and the groups traded off on which one won the Gramophone award for a while.)

I bought five of these to give to all my friends, whether they like classical or not. Perfect for both the intense or new fan to polyphonic.

Many different types of Christmas music on one collection, from chorales, chants and carols, to masses, motets and hymns. A perfect "traditional" disc to put in the seasonal mix!
