When the Xbox, PS2, and GC were first on the market in 2001, (PS2 came out in 2000, but wasn't in supply until the other systems came out) there was much arguement about which one had the best controller. PS2 usually will win, but I have to disagree. I find the GC controller to be the easiest to use. This controller is identical to the one you would receive when you purchase a Jet Black Game Cube. Please note that the Game Cube only comes with one controller, so if you're planning on playing two player games you'll need to get another one. Yes there are cheaper ones on the market, most notably ones from Intec, Mad Catz, Pelican etc, HOWEVER if you read the fine print in your warranty, using any 3rd party product such as those, will automatically void your warranty with the system. For the few extra dollars you spend it will be well worth your purchase. This controller is also very rugged I've had my Game Cube since 2001, and my controller has been stepped on, spilled on, etc, and it's in perfect working order. Save yourself the trouble, and get one of these.

Good and comfortable controller (better than the N64 ones were). It works much better than a 3rd party controller, such as madcatz. If you plan to, or have played "super smash brothers melee"(great game) you will notice how much easier it is to pull-off moves with a nintendo brand controller. It is worth the extra money, no-matter what it says on the third party company's package (dont be fooled by a third party controllers extra button: the "M" button, it does nothing because a nintendo brand controller doesnt have one and the developers design games according to nintendo brand controllers). I never use my cheap madcatz controller (madcatz controller often malfunctions as well), this one is much better, and black goes with everything. My rule of thumb: Nintendo brand game accessories are more reliable, more comfortable, longer lasting, more eye appealing and overall better than third party distributers. It is worth the extra few dollars.

All I have to say is first party(Nintendo) Game cube controllers are much better then third party which allays seem to have some little annoying flaw. Although there are more expensive they WORK much better. The colour does not matter so much but it's too bad they don't come in white to go with my white Wii.

I've had my gamecube for about 2 years, and although I have no trouble with the acutal console, I've found that both my controllers now have defective joysticks which tend to stick in one direction all the time. The only buttons that have broken are the L and R ones, which does tend to limit one in certain games. Other than it's short life span, I enjoy using the gamecube controllers more than the X-box and Playstation, it is very comfortable and most of the buttons are in convineant locations(besides the + pad).

I got this controller in June of 2002 after I got my gamecube for my BDAY. Today they both turn by themselves in games and my dad loves Sonic Mega Collection so it drives him nuts. Otherwise its good and I think 4 stars is generous.It has been stepped on by a 300 pound person when I dropped it on the sidewalk and survived so...

Let's get down to business, i've had my GC for about two years now and this controller for the same amount of time. The GC still works great but my controller acts up a bit from time to time. The joystick on it either doesn't work when I move it forward or it hesitates after not responding. This is very very fustrating while playing Rouge Leader seeing how i would like to move down from time to time. Don't get me wrong the controller is still good, but i'm very seriously contemplating on buying a new one.I have also tried other companies brands but they are all worse and I regretfuly still own them.

All in all, this controller still works allright with the exception of the joystick. The buttons still function correctly and c-stick still works but using the joystick, now, suxs. BE CAREFULL!!

Its cool,its a tool(only if you own a gamecube)but,its only a controller!!!

i had a wireless controller and a normal, wired controller. both broke just after the three month warranty for each ended. they have a great feel and worked great, but prepare to keep buying them as they break pretty quickly.

the only problem with the controller is that the cord is too short,i have had the controller more than a year and it works great , has never broke,my little bro and his friends played and still fine.

This is the best GCN controller. It works better than any other factory made controller so just rely on Nintendo products Made by nintendo and look for the Nintendo symbol on packages (I sound like the back of a game box). I don't have this controller but I have a platinum controller that came with my platinum Gamecube and it works alot better on Mario Kart: Double Dash than my controller made by Datel. That controller made me go really slow and the Z button and Start button had to get hit with a wrecking ball just to make it work. I will just sit that aside and buy a new black controller so I can tell which 1 is first and which 1 is second unlike my PS2 controllers.
