5.0 out of 5 stars 14 of GNR's finest.
This is GNR's best songs from each of their albums on one CD. Welcome To The Jungle, Sweet Child O' Mine, and Paradise City are from Appetite For Destruction. Nightrain or Rocket Queen would've been nice additions to this album. And Patience the only hit from GNR Lies is a great acoustic song. 7 of the songs are from the Use Your Illusion albums, my favorite is November...

3.0 out of 5 stars 2/3rds best, 1/3rd worst
the first 2/3rds of the CD are all worthy of GnR's greatest hits, but the ending is a huge disappointment, culminating in the absolute worst GnR's remake of "Sympathy for the Devil." Estranged, Used to Love Her and other tracks are much more deserving than the final 3 on this album. Estranged, in particular, would demonstrate more fully how Slash's excellent...

7 of the songs are from the Use Your Illusion albums, my favorite is November Rain and Knockin' On Heaven's Door (which is a cover of Bob Dylan's song). And on The Spaghetti Incident Ain't It Fun (The Dead Boys) and Since I Don't Have You (The Skyliners) are 2 great cover songs and are very underrated. Also Sympathy For the Devil a rolling stones cover song was great, in fact it's better then the rolling stones version and its underrated. It could've had maybe Estranged, Nightrain or Rocket Queen on it.

Anyways, if you want all of GNR's hits on 1 CD instead of buying 6 CD's to have all these songs then buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guns N' Roses Classics, Nov 6 2012

I was first introduced to the music of Guns N' Roses as a young child (around 8 years old). My two older brothers listened to a wide range of rock music and this band was one of them. "Patience", "November Rain", "Paradise City", and "Knockin On Heaven's Door" are some of the popular classics on this greatest hits set. "Greatest Hits" by Guns N'Roses is best for those who like and are familiar with at least five of their songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION FROM ONE OF THE BEST, Jun 24 2006
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Guns N' Roses- Greatest Hits contains all their greatest hits and all their top 40 hits.

You Could Be Mine, Don't Cry, Welcome to the Jungle (one of the greatest rock anthems of all-time), Paradise City (a slow beginning and then becomes a blistering piece of metal), November Rain- One of the best power ballads in rock, Patience- Before More Than Words, there was Guns N' Roses- Patience and Knockin' ON Heaven's Door.

This is the best of Guns N' Roses and a must for every G N' R fan and well worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Guns N Roses Rock!, Mar 2 2006

This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Welcome to the jungle, you Sweet Child O Mine. Don't Cry, I mean, You Could Be Mine, but first you got to go down to the Paradise City, and have a little Patience, as you stand in the November Rain, and remember the Yesterdays. But Since I Don't Have You, I won't start a Civil War, or start Knockin' On Heaven's Door, or give some Sympathy For The Devil. I'll just Live and Let Die. And Ain't It Fun putting all the songs on this album into one lame, cheesy paragraph telling you how great the Gunners are? Sorry, were?
Guns N' Roses restored rock and roll. If it werent for Slash, Axl, and the crew, we'd all be walking around in white sequin gloves singing Thriller. They are the best band ever.
The reason I gave this album 4/5 is cause the are WAY too many good songs that should have been on this album that werent. Hmm, no Estranged or Mr. Brownstone...?
But, none the less, this is a great album, so go out and listen to some good old rock and roll.
Yours truly,
Ryan (last name preferably kept anonymous, thank you very much)
P.S.>>> ROCK ON!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars even worse than the spaghetti incident, Mar 4 2005
By
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
this is the worst g'n'r album yet. Does it just get worse and worse? AFD awsome, Lies still good, UYI1 good, UYI2 o.k., SI what???!!!! now this? If your a radio fan of G'n'R, then buy this, 'cause its got all the "hits". Wheres Mr.Brownstone??? Used to Love Her?? Why the slower songs?? G'n'R is about rock, not ballads and power ballads and Axl Roses self indulgence. Wanna a G'n'R compilation? Make your own, save your dollars on this and buy Velvet Revolver. This is the album that the gunners should have released. Imagine Axl on Sucker Train Blues... beautiful

5.0 out of 5 stars "an for all of those opposed...hmmm, well....", Dec 4 2004
By
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I'm a GNR fan so I would support and buy almost anything they put out....
I was lucky enuff that my sis mailed me this cd as a gift (thanx!) but I probably only listened to it 3 times. Like I said, I own all their albums. Greatest Hits are really for ppl who don't own any of the band's material, so it's a great "introductory" lesson (hey, if you're young like me and don't know much about the Stones, get "hot rocks" and you'll end up fallin in love and buying thier whole library!) Same goes for GNR...you young ones (younger than me, or those that missed out when they were at the height of their carrer)...go out an buy this (it's pretty cheap if you get it now in the stores too). Then if you like it (and you will!!) buy appetite and the Illusion records for sure. Lies is awsome (has "you're crazy--one of my favourites) and Spaghetti is good for you snot nosed punks out there :)

Now for the actual album:
-did anyone notice that "aint it fun" is censored?? WHY??
-Where on earth is Estranged---I know for a fact a lot of guns fans LOVE this song (myself incl')--so beautiful
-should've came with like a dvd or something special--for kicks
-geffen should've titled it "singles" or something and then incl' all thier singles

so overall, it's what you expect from a greatest hits cd--a good intro lesson---but it does take away from thier work....
my advice to you, is if you're not familiar with GNfn'R...get Appetite for destruction--it's a greatest hits right there (every freakin song is genius---trust me!!!!)
And if you are familiar with GNR by ALL thier albums and DVDs---you won' regret it!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compilation inspite of the tracklist, July 15 2004
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Inspite of all the complaints about the track selection, this CD still ROCKS!!!!! But if Interscope/Geffen really wants to put out "new" GN'R product, they should offer up remastered and upgraded copies of APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION (1987), GN'R LIES (1988), USE YOU ILLUSION I & II (1991) and THE SPAGHETTI INCIDENT (1993)...and hopefully they will in the near future!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars 2/3rds best, 1/3rd worst, July 13 2004

the first 2/3rds of the CD are all worthy of GnR's greatest hits, but the ending is a huge disappointment, culminating in the absolute worst GnR's remake of "Sympathy for the Devil." Estranged, Used to Love Her and other tracks are much more deserving than the final 3 on this album. Estranged, in particular, would demonstrate more fully how Slash's excellent guitar-playing carried a lot of GnR songs, taking the burden off Axel's singing and lyrics.

My guess is the record company made an incomplete and flawed product on purpose because they reckoned that those introduced to GnR from this album would then feel compelled to buy the other CD's with the missing tracks they'd heard were also essential.
