I am 15 years old and i was introduced to the star trek world through Voyager I have a feeling that if it were TNG or DS9 that i had come across that i would not like Star Trek as much as i do now so i strongly suggest that you buy this DVD series becouse as far as i'm concerned Voyager is the best series

Please note that my poor rating is directed at the greedy money gluttons at Paramount for a retail price of $129.99! That is double to triple the average cost for a season of a TV show DVD set. I know Voyager had higher production costs than most shows, but come on! The amount of people that would buy it would make up for that. It's exactly because of that fact that they DO know how many folks must have this, that they feel they can get away with charging this much. I walked into Best Buy intent on purchasing this, shook my head in disbelief, and ended up getting season three of Futurama for $40.99 instead (yes, I know it's just a cartoon). I mean, I like the Ferengi but I don't like getting stiffed by Hew-mons acting like them. Kudos to Amazon for selling it for $39.00 less. I'll still probably get a used set here or try and get one cheap on EBay. Did seasons 1 and 2 cost $129.99 when they first came out? I wish that people would send a message to Paramount Home Video by not buying season three (at least not at the full retail price), then just maybe they won't try and charge $149.99 when season four comes out.
As for season three itself, as others have stated, I feel the show had finally come into its own. My two favorite episodes are "Worst Case Scenario" and "Scorpion Part 1". Unfortunately by the time season three started most Trek fans had sworn off the show forever (including a few friends of mine that HAD been life long Trek fans) thanks to some very weak and some VERY stupid first and second season episodes.

Anyone who thinks Voyager was the worst Star Trek series has obviously never seen Enterprise! I love TNG, DS9 and Voyager. I don't care for The Original Series, but realize that it started it all and therefore I give it that credit. I currently own all of TNG, DS9 and seasons 1 and 2 of Voyager on dvd. I will buy the rest of Voyager on dvd as they are released.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think voyager was brillant. I strongly recommend buying the dvds. Although, I think season 4 and 5 were a bit more exciting. The earlier seasons kind of give you an introduction to things and set everything up. But, they all are funny, brillant, and well written. I LOVE IT!

If anyone thinks Voyager was a let down to all other series you are strongly mistaken. Voyager is funny, fast and the stories make sense. Season 3 is perhaps the best season along with maybe season 2 or 4, but every Star Trek fan should appreciate it.

As bad as people say Star Trek Voyager was, even the worst Voyager is better than any episode of Star Trek Enterprise. I don't see what people's problem with Voyager is, it wasn't that bad. Season three had some very good episodes. The botton line is, if people like the show, they are going to buy the DVDs, if not, they won't. Writing reviews saying you think the show sucks, or argueing about the Borg episodes isn't going to change anyone's minds. And by the way, this ISN'T the season that introduced 7 of 9, that was season 4. Get your facts straight please.

Product was in excellent condition. Season 3 is not as good as later seasons. Too much Kazon and too much Kess.

In the STAR TREK Universe of series, the third season historically sets the pace for the most enduring stories of the run of the show. STAR TREK: VOYAGER Season Three doesn't disappoint. Featuring such landmark episodes that eventually lead up to their epic first confrontation with the TREK Universe's most sinister enemies: The Borg.

Season Three finally proves that Janeway's crew has the mettle to stand up to any of the other crews in Roddenbery's legacy, even more so since they face the perilous unknown of the Delta Quadrant. This is exactly what was always intended for STAR TREK...a ship out in space, searching the unknown and expanding on the human condition. It never hurt that along the way in Season Three the VOYAGER has some of the most exciting moments in sci-fi adventure ever on television!

Season Three sets the tone for the future of the TREK francise and for the eventual climatic introduction of one of the most intriguing characters ever to appear in any STAR TREK series...prepare for Season Four!

Here we are now at season 3. We start out this season with Janeway and crew in the worst possible circumstances--stranded on a planet with only the clothes on their back and no way to send out for help. A few more recurring characters get killed off and even this sets up some future plot lines that will reveal themselves in the next few seasons.

This season also gives us another glimpse of the Q Continuum--this time it is viewed as a US Civil War Battlefield. So many variations that they could have done with this. We also get glimpses of what comes next for this wayward crew--the Year Of Hell first appears here as Kes' nightmares. Then there is the first encounters with the Borg--sooner or later, they were going to appear in the story. I liked how they outlined Voyager's first contact with them--on a planet where the inhabitants went underground to escape attacks from above and in the final scene, Chakotay tells Janeway they found out who attacked these people when the find a dead Borg body in one of the mineshaft entrances. One question I have always had, though was whether or not the Dominion had problems with the Borg as well--never did see any assimilated Jem'hadr or Vorta in the Collective.

Eventually, Janeway and crew encounter living Borg, the first ones from a ship that suffered a mishap and the survivors having to cope with life after assimilation fighting each other. Then comes "Scorpion", where Voyager encounters the Collective for the first time and witnesses its next conquest with the Borg going after Species 8472 and that things were not going so well for the Collective. Once again, Janeway tries to strike up another alliance with one of the Delta Quadrant baddies (first time with the Traib in Season 2) and tries to align herself with the Borg--bad mistake.

On the lighter side, there is the episode commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Star Trek, when Tuvok has his flashbacks of his first Starfleet assignment on board the USS Excelsior, commanded by Hikaru Sulu and their activities surrounding the first Kittimer Conference. One other thing to note about this episode is that they also bring back Commander Kang as one of Sulu's favorite nemeses. After that, he only shows up in DS9 as an old man.

In response to an earlier review. A Borg drone could have been assimulated at Wolf 359, the Borg don't just assimulate people but also ships. After assimulating a ship at Wolf 359, the single cube moves on, the assimulated ship continues on a different path and continues changes to the ship - possibly returning to the Delta Quadrant.
Star Trek VI - The person killed in the Voyager episode didn't die in the movie, because those events hadn't taken place yet. Think of the Voyager episode as a slight change in the timeline caused by Janeway's presence.
Example: Star Trek First Contact, the first time 'round Cochrane made his Warp flight without a hitch, Lily with him. The Borg returning to those events as well as the Enterprise only slightly altered those events. If Enterprise hadn't been successful the timeline would have been completely altered.
