5.0 out of 5 stars Mean Girls
Ok....I admit that when Mean Girls first came out I didn't want to see it because I thought it was a movie for pre-teens. However, when I saw it on DVD I knew I was wrong. It has everything an amazing movie should have. It has a nice plot. It's funny and it has good one-liners. It also teaches a good, moral lesson too. Tina Fey did an awesome job writing and acting in the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Arrived over one month late.
The product was fine once it arrived, but it shipped June 20th, was scheduled to arrive 23-25 of June, and didn't arrive until the en of July. This may not be entirely due to the company, as the postal strike was around this time. However, products ordered after this arrived two weeks earlier even with the postal strike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very funny film, Jun 21 2006

Mean girls is a film that will appeal not just to teenagers but to anyone with a sense of humour...particularly if you like your humour black.

Lindsay Lohan stars as a young girl who has been taught at home all of her life and is joining high school for the first time. Cady and her parents have been living in Africa and she soon realises that being at school isn't all that different. There are clear demarkations betwen the various species such as the 'plastics', the 'geeks' and so on.

The film has some hilarious moments as Cady tries to find her niche in this jungle. As with most 'teen' movies, there is a moral at the end but thankfully this isn't saccharine in any way. Great fun.

It's an excellent movie and it's the kind that you can watch more then once. So, if you haven't seen it, make sure to go to a local blockbusters or Rogers video and rent. I guarentee that you'll love it because when you watch it....you'll see yourself in there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Former Mean Girl, Nov 14 2004

Okay, I first have to admit that I'm 25, but I love this movie. When I was in HS I was definitely not the nicest and while watching this movie I totally recognized things I had done and things that had been done to me. Of course I've grown out of it but this movie totally sent be back to HS. Yuck, but I also laughed and laughed. The actors in this movie are so spot on that it's scary to see, but it's also what makes it. Some things are a little too far-fetched but what it lacks in reality it makes up for in hilarity. See it, live it, Love it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Teen Film!, July 20 2004
This review is from: NEW Mean Girls (DVD) (DVD)
As a student in high school, I was very eager to see this movie. And I was not disappointed. Although some of the situations Cady (Lindsay Lohan's character) were put into were far fetched and un-realistic, they had a reasonable portrayel of what high school is really like nowadays, with cliques and all. Tina Fey was a great addition to the cast and I think that Lindsay Lohan has made a smart move in getting a more teen audience rather than a fan base of 8 year old girls, which is a problem that fellow teen star Hilary Duff is having a struggle to change. Lindsay is much more appealing and has a more "cool" vibe to her. Overall, this movie is definately one to add to your collections, especially teens. Great movie to watch with your girlfriends!

The DVD hasn't been released yet, but I'm sure it will include awesome features

5.0 out of 5 stars the "Heathers" of this decade, July 19 2004

High school can be a cruel place. Especially if you've just moved to the United States after spending your life in the isolated depths Africa with your anthropologist parents. Cady Heron thought she was just like any other kid until her family moved from the savanna of Africa to the suburbs of Evanston, Illinois. Completely alone and confused, Cady finds solace in her new friends, Janis and Damien, the resident outcasts of the local high school. Things get a little more complicated when Cady catches the eye of "the worst people you will ever meet", the Plastics, led by the ultra-popular diva with "two Fendi bags and a silver Lexus", Regina George. Soon Cady gets dragged into a world known only by Regina and her two obsequious followers Gretchen and Karen, a girl's dream world of shopping sprees, hot boys and hot parties. But what started as a mission to bring closure to Janis, ex-friend of Regina, soon becomes an obsession. Cady soon manages to alienate Regina and eventually dethrone her, in doing so, usurping her position of evil tyrant. It only gets worse when Regina's old secrets turn every girl at school against each other, and eventually against Cady. Being popular is never easy, and it gets pretty lonely at the top. "Mean Girls" is a true classic that exemplifies the teen comedies of this decade. It follows in the footsteps of "Bring It On" and the "American Pie" trilogy in steering away from the depressing angst-ridden John Hughes movies of yore. With a hysterical script and an A-list cast, this "Julius Caesar"-meets-"Clueless" film is a riot. The chemistry among this cast is wonderful, and even less known personalities like Amanda Seyfried and Lizzy Caplan matched the top-notch caliber of more established actresses Lindsay Lohan and Lacey Chabert. Amy Poehler, who plays Regina George's mother, is actually only five years older than Rachel McAdams (who was close to 30 at the time of filming). From beginning to end, this film's a definite keeper.

This movie was sooo good, much better than I expected. Lindsay Lohan shines throughout. One of the best movies I've seen this year that deals with actual high school and consequences of actions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a Mean Girl, July 16 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: NEW Mean Girls (DVD) (DVD)
Im 15 in high school. At school im one of the so-called "plastics" I am a cheerleader and I used to put everybody down.
Well my popular plastics group Allie, Laura, Brittany, & myself went to see this movie. We went to see it and agreed that it was the best movie. On the way out Brittany said, "We really act like that?" The rest of us were just like, "um...YES"
Brittany pointed out that she now saw how mean we really were.
At first none of us agreed.
Brittany flat out told us that we should try to be nicer.
Laura agreed right on with her
Allie said we were pretty mean, but that it was just to much fun being mean
And I mainly just told them off. I said they were out of there minds. I didn't care how mean we were or not!!
Then I took my 13 year old sister to see it and then saw what the other girls meant.
No human being deserves to be treated that way!
We didn't have hearts of gold. In fact we had no heart at all.
At our next "Tart" meating (the name of our group 'cause we are kinda sleezy) we decided to still be stuck up plastics, but we never went to far.
~ To every mean girl out there remember:
Life isn't about being popular (I know someone needs to tell me that!!) Its okay to be a little stuck up, but don't be extremely mean to someone. And NEVER be mean to someone who is nice to you!
Love'
~ Faith Summers~ !!
~Peace!!
