Returned it: not worth the mess
on December 30, 2013
Love KitchenAid and have several sturdy, useful attachments. This one, though, was disappointing. The flow of the juice as you hold the citrus being juiced unavoidably splashes onto your hand and down your arm, since its design requires you to hold the citrus in place. The fact that it mounts sideways so it can drip into a bowl causes this.
Secondly, hanging onto the citrus with all one's might to prevent it flying off the spinning juicer isn't fun. Returned this item and purchased a small Cuisinart upright citrus juicer, which works much better (the Cuisinart has a cover which serves to protect you from flying juice and gives something easy to press on, and has a sieve which separates the pits out). A little grip mat under the Cuisinart holds it tightly in place on the counter.
