When I was younger I actually remembered watching this show on TV. I was big into star wars at the time and even though the music was sort of cheesy, I loved it. Naturally I purchased it the moment I saw it in stores only to be hugely disappointed. They had completely redone the music including that great TV opening theme that I loved. I then immediately grumbled at the $10 I wasted on it and then gave it to my friend's kid.

As for the animation, it was targeted for kids so do keep this in mind as you view it. As adults you will find the animation to be simplistic, but your kids if they are into Star Wars will love it. As for me a fan of the original, it was a huge letdown.

The show was bad enough before, but now it's even worse.
I never really liked Droids that much, but it was better than the insipid Ewoks series, and it was the only way to get any new Star Wars stories (other than the Marvel comic books) for a very long time. If there was one bright spot to the series, it was the music. Inventive, distinctive, and at time eerie. It helped push what was a so-so series into respectability. But now, for whatever reason, all the music to the show has been replaced. It isn't just the theme music, which I thought at first was the only changed, but all the incidental music throughout. It has all been replaced by horrible synthesizer stuff that isn't distinctive at all. I know this show was never terribly popular and this isn't bound to cause much of a controversy, but when will Lucas stop mucking around with his properties? If I could unbuy this mess I would. And as for the above mentioned Ewoks, the music has been changed there too if anyone cares.
