This is a extraordinarilly magnificent televition series that will, in my opinion, never be close to equaled. With a brilliant story line intertwining magic, carnivale curiosities, religion and all taking place in the depression of the 1930's. Carnival also has a cast of wonderfull actors, fabulouse cinematography and art direction, a whimsicly perfect sound track and much more.

It is a great dissapointment that this wonderfull show had to be abrutly ended at only the second season by cancelation, shame on you HBO!!!

The first thing I said upon finishing this series was "Oh my God, I can't wait for season 2. How can I get HBO?". Carnivale is a dark mix of drama, occult and soap opera revolving around the relationships, powers, secrets and talents of a travelling carnival during the 1930's.
It is well worth the time investment and I highly recommend it to anyone. Once you're done, nothing is answered and you'll go through total withdrawl.

I only had to watch 3 episodes of this series to discover it's one of the most interesting,strange,intriguing,series I have ever seen! Everything about it- the story,scenery,costumes,the strange characters,the wonderful plot... is very,very well done.It seems that almost all the people have something to hide,and I can't wait to find out all their secrets!! I wish I could go into more detail... but you can find out for yourself all the little surprises!!

Sadly after two attempts to get a working set - had to return as the first disc in each set did not work.

Even more than the fact that I am loving this series, I wanted to say something great about amazon.ca themselves. I had received the first season of Carnivale for my birthday. We just finally got around to starting another series here and halfway through the first season I noticed that somehow we had received to episode 3 & 4 discs and no 7 & 8, within one week of writing about the mishap, we received the correct disc. I just wanted to say thanks big time. We were starting to go through withdrawels here.

I bought "Carnivale: The Complete First Season" as a gift for a friend in Vancouver. The estimated shipment dates were bleak, however the item was delivered quite quickly -- within three weeks of the purchase date. I'm incredibly pleased with how fast everything shipped out, the price of the item, and the updates I received from Amazon along the way. My friend was also incredibly pleased -- the items arrived in good condition, and she can't wait to start watching! Or, I should say, "re-watching", as Carnivale is one of her favorite shows. From what I've seen, I can't blame her!

I have just finished watching Season 1 of "Carnivale" and I loved it!! What a shame that it was cancelled after two Seasons. (I am looking forward to buying Season 2.) If you enjoyed the T.V. shows "American Gothic" (American Gothic - The Complete Series) or "Millennium" (Millennium: Seasons 1-3) you will like this. Wonderful cast & the story line is set during the Great Depression. Check it out!

This is a really interesting, dark show despite it never finishing (there's a second season, but it was cancelled after that).
The box set came to me a bit bent, but nothing horrible and nothing distracting.

I had heard good things about this series so got it when it was on sale. Strangely addicting, its a dark story about good and evil in a really dark time in history. I couldn't wait to get to the next and the next disc and started season two shortly after the first. I have one disc left to watch in season two and I am disappointed that there are no more seasons after number two. It was originally meant to run for six seasons and was abruptly cancelled after only two so I have a feeling many questions will go unanswered. Love love this show! Love Nick Stahl as Ben and a top rate cast of actors! How could they cancel this series!?!? Highly recommended!
