5.0 out of 5 stars Great Adventure, Drama, Comedy & Romance in TLW!
This is a great show currently awaiting a 4rth Season!! True fans are keeping fingers, toes and other appendages crossed. And we shall continue to do so until we hear word. This show is NOT cancelled so don't even think it. The "fat dino" (sorry) has not yet sung.

We were told lots of "extras", including footage from 2003 TLW convention will be in this DVD package. Also...

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring
This show was great while it was on(it's been cancelled), It has great characters and good storylines but since they started showing the reruns over and over again it's kinda gotten old. I don't feel it's worth the money to buy.

Also -- bloopers! Just can't resist those!! And MORE.

However, the true thrill is in getting the first season of The Lost World TV series, with all the great regular characters including Challenger, Roxton, Marguerite, Malone, Veronica and Prof. Summerlee ... and seeing how it all started!!

This is a don't miss!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lost World rocks!, Jun 25 2004

Once you start watching this series you will be hooked! The characters are amazing and the story lines are fabulous. You become so engrossed in the shows that you will want to watch the entire season all at once. I only hope they put the rest of the series out on DVD too so that we can keep up with all the characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fullscreen or Widescreen?, Oct 22 2003

(REAL NAME)
The Lost World is my favorite show. I'm watching them (first 3 seasons) for the second time on TNT. The sign of a good show is you can watch it more than once. Also a reason to get a DVD is you don't mine watching again. The 5 actors are all excellent, and the writing is also top notch. I know the DVD is probably in fullscreen, but if it was in the widescreen format it would be fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Sci-Fi Show, Oct 16 2003
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World is a great show which has a lot going in it's favour. There is a good Story, strong characters, plenty of action as well as humour.

It is all about a group of explorers, lead by Prof. George Edward Challenger who go in search of a lost world in the amazon. The group at first seems to be mis-matched with each there for their own goals which are driving them Then when they get stranded, they learn to trust each other, depend or each other for survival and get a sense of family feeling.

I would recommend this DVD set to anyone, and for all members of the family. Great show, can't wait to see the 4th season.

This is an excellent series whose actors do a wonderful job of bringing the great writing to life. The special effects are totally awesome and the action scenes are fun to watch. This show has it all action, adventure, drama, comedy and for those who are interested in that stuff it even has mushy crap! If you dont' get this you will be LOST when the new season arrives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific sci-fi/fantasy series, Oct 14 2003
By A Customer
The Lost World, loosely based on Conan Doyle's novel of the same name, is a terrific action/adventure sci fi show. It's the characters and the relationships that really set this show apart from others of its genre, though. It features excellent stories and a great cast. As of this writing, a fourth season of the show is still a possibility. I highly recommend these DVDs.

This fantastic series is a combination of action, adventure &romance with an incredibly talented cast and crew. It has breathtakingly beautiful scenery shot on location on Australia's Gold Coast and has something for everyone of all ages. It is a great show to watch with the entire family. I highly recommend it, not only for the superb acting and talented writing, but
because this show is just plain fun to watch. The characters draw you in to the story and leave you wanting more.

Fans of the TLW have been waiting a long time for this DVD to arrive! Even while the series is currently in delayed mode as to the date of this review, the fan base continues to grow stongly. Creative plots bring strong characters to life in this turn of the century sci-fi action/drama. Very reasonable price for this season one DVD set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love The Lost World, Oct 13 2003

How do you encapsulate a great series like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's: The Lost World?
I will certainly give it my best try.
This series has it all action, adventure, romance, comedy and drama.
Season One starts things off with the aptly named episode "The Journey Begins". Our explorers Prof. George Challenger, Lord John Roxton, Ned Malone, Arthur Summerlee and Marguerite Krux are taken in by Veronica Layton (a young woman whose parents disappeared 11 yrs before and grew up alone on the mysterious plateau). The stranded group realizes getting off the plateau and back to London is no easy task (luckily for us). You'd think dinosaurs would be their biggest problem - well think again. They encounter slavers, apemen, cannibals, headhunters and raiders, just to name a few. I think all the episodes are great but here a few of my choices as standouts.
"Cave of Fear" delves into Roxton's guilt over his brothers' death by his own hand. "Out of Time" sheds some light on Marguerite's destiny. "Prodigal Father" Veronica deals with the possible return of her father. "Absolute Power" Challenger finds out what it's like to have it. "Birthright" finds Summerlee hunted by an angry T-rex. "Camelot" takes you back to the days of jousting and dragon slaying or should I say dinosaur slaying. "The Beast Within" Malone tries to rectify an error in judgment. "More Than Human" introduces one of the more charismatic recurring characters named Tribune (he also shows up in "Barbarians at the Gate" and again in Season Two).

From "The Journey Begins" when they are still getting a feel for one another to "Barbarians at the Gate" when they would die for one another - you'll follow these characters through many trials of courage and strength. It's a journey you'll be glad you started.
