Their first record and their best. Greg Lake sings so well on "I Talk To The Wind" and on "21st Century Schizoid Man" (it's like if he took his voice, put it in a blinder to scramble, and put it in his throat again and then sing). Robert Fripp is amazing with his guitar playing. All songs are exceptional from the beginning to the end, you can't stop the record without listening to every song. I always feel like I'm dying when I listen to "Epitaph" and "In The Court Of The Crimson King". Awesome record, great progressive rock jazzy music!

one of those rare albums that over the years you never tire of....can always go back for another listen...exciting and compelling everytime....if you like music buy this.

What can you say, this is one of the greatest Progressive rock albums. I'm showing my age by admitting I've been listening to this album for over 30 years.

All these years after it was written, 21st Century Schizoid Man is audacious and brilliantly performed. I still consider Mike Giles' drumming on that song to be one of the best drumming performances ever recorded.

I have numerous KC records, but this is one I always return to. This marks the band at their best before they got too jazzy. Nobody else uses a mellotron like this, bringing out all the icyness of that forerunner to today's synthesizer when all was tapes and magnetic heads! If you like it, I highly recommend this record's similar brother: In the Wake of Poseidon, which is phenomenal!
