Adrian Pasdar is perfect as Jim Profit. His sexy voice "hypnotises" the viewer from the very beginning of this highly charged, interesting movie. Pity the series was never completed. The main character is a master of manipulation and the complexities of his personality are reflected in business and private life. Its well worth the price and will take pride of place in your dvd collection.

"Profit" is like what most of the current series aren't: very original, well written, dark but with a nice touch of comedy, daring, and intelligent. The cast is strong. The visual aspect is interesting. The music set the mood nicely. As for the extras, they are certainly interesting. The "Greed Kills" documentary, very insightful, runs for a little more than an hour, and features a variety of creators/writers/directors, producers, and actors. There are also commentaries on the two hour pilot and three episodes. Highly recommended. |
