3.0 out of 5 stars Bring it out on DVD
I totally agree with all the writers who want this brought out on DVD. I have the original Eddie and would love to have this on DVD. VHS is old school. DVD is the new way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars I really love Eddie and the cruisers II: Eddie Lives!, Dec 19 2005

This review is from: Eddie & Cruisers 2 (VHS Tape)
To the owners of the mastertape!! Please employ the fans requist's, and release it on dvd. The movie is and the music's are unforgetable, I've seen the movie once in the 80's, before I realised that it's the sequel, and have never forgotten it!. I own the first movie(Eddie and the Cruisers)on dvd and I occasionally watch it, I sometimes look for the sequel on the internet every so often, to see if the movie has been released on dvd format, the reason is, I think that it is one of these movies that are rare, and the owner(s) will never get tired of watching, even if they watch the movie over and over and over again. The story is quite capturing and the music something else!!! The movie's (one and two) have quite a following that are faithful, please DO NOT let them down, it will also be a wise profetable decition if you relelease the movie as a dvd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eddie and the Cruisers 2 - Eddie Lives" ROCKS"!!!!!, Feb 17 2005
By A Customer
Please put "Eddie and the Cruiser 2 - Eddie Lives" on DVD!!!!! I bought the tape of "Eddie and the Cruisers 2 - Eddie Lives" first, before I ever knew there was "Eddie and the Cruisers" and I think it is actually better than the first one! I play both of them all the time but the first one is on DVD and the second one which is on tape is getting so worn that I am afraid it won't last much longer! The music on both are a must for any Rockin' Roll Fan of any age and the storyline is GREAT! I have two sons in their 20's and when I put 1 or 2 of Eddie and the Cruisers on they come in and watch it! Like I said Eddie and the Cruisers 1 or 2 Eddie Lives really ROCKS for all ages! Please give all the fans a chance to enjoy it on DVD!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Past-Present-Future, Dec 7 2004

Growing up in that era of the 60's,music was always there,we just had to listen more.By watching the video today,re-lives our memories of days gone by,but not forgotten.Very well portrayed with the appropriate actors,congratulations-for taking the time and patience to put a movie together, about a 60's rocker who came from jersey.Eddie Wilson's music was one of a kind, that is unique,in this day and age.Keep up the great work, looking forward to more of his movies.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's Only Rock & Roll, Jun 14 2004
By A Customer
If it wasn't for John Cafferty's energetic music,Eddie And The Cruisers II would be a total loss.So many times movies about rock bands go south because too much false melodrama and tension are added to pad out the story and plot.Films like the original Eddie And The Cruisers,Light Of Day,Thunder Alley and Breaking Glass are major culprits in that regard, while movies like That Thing You Do!,School Of Rock and The Commitments get it right by making the rock & roll experience fun and something you'd want to be involved with.Eddie II is actually a better film than Eddie I,but that's not saying much.Who would want to be in a band with a brooding (...) dictator of a musician like Eddie Wilson in the first place? He's talented but he's also a major jackass. And why hasn't he aged in 20+ years? He looks fantastic for a guy in his early 50's.Maybe it's the fake sideburns. The whole plotline of the tormented rock star who's inferiority complex drove him to fake his own death is really stretching it.Why didn't he just get a drug addiction and do it for real?Michael Pare doesn't display much range in these films either. He's either sad or mad and has fewer facial expressions than even Keanu Reeves.Besides the music, the only appeal the Eddie films have for this viewer is the Cheese Factor. These movies are so cheesy and bad that they're really fun to watch.Whenever I see 'em on cable I never miss 'em.Eddie lives indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars for lack of plot, Feb 15 2004

But the music is great. I only wish they would release this in DVD. And I think John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band leaves Springsteen in the dust.
