The dirt, grime and sawdust of the Old West are nearly palpable in this title from NeverSoft, legendary creators of the Tony Hawk series. Realistic voice work by an A-list cast including Lance Henrikson, Thomas Jane and Tom Skerritt complements a trip into the heart of the untamed West. Unfolding like a Louis L'Amour novel, the plot is rich and full of twists -- this game is not only a graphic feast for the eyes, but a chance to live the life of a rough and tumble gunhand in a lawless land.

Guard stagecoaches, race to deliver with the Pony Express and fight off a band of ruthless indians as they attack a train... All of the standard Western cliches show up, but with a gleeful immediacy and urgent demeanor. A few chances to overcome the stereotypes show up, such as a mission wherein the main character frees a group of indians prior to their torture and murder by army troops break the mold of the typical Western plot. Parents beware - this game features a few surprises for the unwary, and may offer a more realistic depiction of Western life thn you may expect. Blood and gore abound in this tale of the uncompromising nature of life in the ever-expanding drive to the left coast -- enjoy the game for its innovation and smooth handling. Enjoy the game for its roster of talent. Enjoy the game for the chance to live the dream of seeing the West as it was, or enjoy the game for the chance to get bloody revenge on the men who killed your pa -- the reasons are there for you to discover, but like the land that inspired it, enjoy the game for the multitude of possibilities that await you.
