The fourth series really kicks things up a notch as the characters are more developed and the writing more focussed, funny and biting. The wit and sarcasm (especially from Bea Arthur’s ‘Dorothy’) still drives the show.
The only problem is the weak DVD 'extras', or the lack there of.
The shows themselves though are enough to keep you entertained.

I started watching "The Golden Girls" the moment it hit TV. It was the 80s, time of big hair and shoulder pads! I was a 20 something, unmarried, no children, probably living the dream! I loved "The Girls" because they were classy and sassy, they dressed impeccably, they were funny, they loved each other and took care of each other. They all had children or brothers or sisters or parents who would show up every now and then, husbands: dead or divorced... their storylines were so true to life! I sent a fan letter, they sent me a postcard. I couldn't wait to be retired so I could start living the "retirement dream"! So here I am now, 55 something, watching reruns, loving them as much now as ever, with my own children, a husband (alive!), not quite retired but getting closer all the time! This show is timeless and I thank Amazon for having the incredible foresight to make this show available!

I live in eastern Canada and this came a lot faster than expected (same with seasons 6 a 7!). Great season, no issues with the DVDs, everything worked well. Great price, great store!
