5.0 out of 5 stars Hardcastle & McCormick
The chemistry between Brian Keith and Daniel Hugh Kelly was a great partnership. I wished that the series had lasted longer than it did it was so well written and it was fun to watch again after all these years.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Coyote lives!
Many of my friends and I have been waiting for this. We are Coyote junkies and can't get enough of the Manta Montage-based car. Some of us (i.e. myself) have actually bought Manta Montages just to make them into Coyotes. Looking forward to seeing the car in action. Just the opener with the Coyote launching over another car is worth getting the DVD! check out...

5.0 out of 5 stars The last great buddy-show, April 4 2006

This was always a favorite of mine in my youth, and I had to treat myself when I saw the first season had become available on DVD. I had some trepidation that the show would disappoint me now, or that it wouldn't live up to the memories, but the humor still shines through, punctuating the adventure in a way that makes the characters real. This show definitely holds up far better than many of the other "classics" of the era.

I can only echo the praise given for this set. It is well done and complete. I hear season 2 will be out in August and I'm just waiting for the oportunity to preorder it. Why can't someone in the USA release this? Meanwhile my hard earn money will be going north of the border for these great sets by VEI.

This box set is a wonderful gift! It brings back awesome memories of the 80's and the wonderful buddy/buddy shows of that era. The opening sequence/selection screen is great. Each title has the teaser playing for it...I've never seen another DVD with this feature. I've already watched every episode in the set (some more than once.) and I'm still excited over it. The quality of the set is first class. A-1 work from the manufacturer/distributor. I can't wait for the next season to come out and I'm sure, once again, I'll be ordering 2 sets. One for me and one for my sister...who is equally pleased with the set. This set is truely a must have for your television classics DVD collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Done with love, Feb 23 2006

I have to admit that I was worried about this DVD. I've never actually heard of VEI and was afraid that it would be one of those slop jobs so popular with smaller fan-base series. How wrong can one person be? This DVD set was done with love. The quality is great, but there's the little touches that show how much this company respects their product: a booklet that gives a detailed synopsis of each first season episode and credits; the regular stars include the Coyote's "real name"; and my favorite, the teasers used as part of the menu which are playable. I'm definitely buying seasons 2 and 3 when they are released, but I'm also going to check out this company's other products. Bravo! (Now if they could only uncover the rumored blooper reel, I'd have to find a higher rating.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the wait!!!, Feb 20 2006
By
This review is from: Hardcastle & McCormick: Season 1 (DVD)
Hardcastle & McCormick has not been aired on UK terrestrial or cable tv for over 20 years so I was really dying to get my hands on this set!!

The company releasing season one, VEI Canada, I had never heard of, but my goodness they really have done us H&M fans proud! The series is spread over five discs (no nasty double sided discs here, I'm happy to say) no cuts made to the episodes and even the original teaser trailers for each ep are included (something that I hope continues for future releases).

Some of the old U.S shows just don't seem to be as good when you watch them later in life - however I'm pleased to say that this does not apply to H&M. It's far fetched in places, yes but also contains great heart and soul, especially the growing friendship between Milt & Mark. Also crammed full of sarcastic humour, car chases aplenty and fist fights galore, Hardcastle & McCormick is as great to me now (at age 35) as it was to the 13 year old me (back in 1983).

Buy it, you won't regret it - and rediscover two old friends!

Hardcastle and McCormick has always been one of my favorite TV shows. The combination of humour, action and a great music score makes this a series not to miss.

Roll on Season Two

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Things Are Worth Waiting For, Feb 18 2006
This review is from: Hardcastle & McCormick: Season 1 (DVD)
It's about time this set appeared -- fans of this show have been longing for DVDs for nearly twenty years now and here they are! The picture quality is superb, the sound is excellent and the episodes are complete and include the original music. This was an underappreciated show in its time that has continued to gather new fans simply from syndicated re-runs and the sharing of old video tapes. No more! Thanks to VEI, Season One is available and Seasons Two and Three will follow (soon, I hope!). "Hardcastle and McCormick" showcased some brilliant acting, fine scripting and gorgeous scenery. Action fans will love it, comedy fans will enjoy it, most people will want this set of DVDs once they've sampled it. Thank you, VEI, for bringing a long, long wait to such a satisying end!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lone Ranger and Tonto ride again!, Feb 17 2006
By
Cheri (Oklahoma, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hardcastle & McCormick: Season 1 (DVD)
Okay, I'll admit it: I've been a fan of Hardcastle and McCormick since it was originally broadcast back in the 80's, and I've been waiting for the DVDs what seems like forever. So, I was prepared to be satisfied with this set just on principle alone. But then I got my discs and found that the quality of the product was far more than I had dared hope. Excellent picture clarity and a solid audio track come together to make it a viewing pleasure.

And the very best thing: the pilot episode, Rolling Thunder, is complete. To the best of my knowledge, only in the initial broadcast was it aired in its entirety; after that it was broken into two parts and had scenes deleted. To see it restored and uncut makes this set well worth the purchase.

I will be anxiously waiting for seasons two and three.
