Fantastic.,

I stumbled across this dvd a few months back and was absolutely blown away. As I'm a bit of an audiophile (aka sound snob), sound quality on concert dvds is the thing i really pay attention to (the 5.1 mix is stunning). There is nothing worse than getting a music dvd with poor sound quality. This dvd has the best sound of any concert disc i have - the picture is excellent as well (shot in HD). This dvd reminds us how talented this guy is and how great his songs are. Thank goodness someone had the foresight to capture him in a quality production like this, just like they did with Orbison before he passed away. This is a full throttle concert for a guy now in his 60s - his energy is unreal and his voice sounds the same as it did 35 years ago.For old time fans or 30 somethings like me who just missed CCR in their heyday - this recaps a peice of the history of rock and roll. This presents him in a high def. / high fidelity manner which makes his music accessible to us from the music video era. This is a concert dvd and not a documentary. It is laid out in a style and format that really makes you feel like you have the best seat in the house. I can't recommend this enough. Buy it.

With my local music store having promised me they'd have this DVD on their shelves on the published release date of June 13, I was quite put off when I went to the store to pick up 'my copy' and was told, even though they had them in stock (I saw the copy), they couldn't release the DVD until the following week - how absurd! So, with the Canadian release date of this much anticipated DVD having been pushed back by one week, I jumped the gun and picked up a copy across the border in Michigan, the very next day! Living in a border city with a not-too-busy border crossing has its' advantages. I just couldn't wait - I'm a diehard Fogerty Fan! I got to enjoy this gem all of Father's Day weekend (it was a gift from my 17 and 11 yr. old sons, who are also Fogerty fans) - maybe even before any other Canadian resident but, I digress! Watching Fogerty perform 'live' on DVD is the next best thing to being there, which me and my family have done twice in the past two years. In Nov. '04 we saw him perform indoors at the State Theatre in Detroit on the Deja Vu tour and then again in Mt. Pleasant, MI, "on the fourth of July" during the Rockin' America tour of '05 - that was a double bill with some other guy named Mellencamp! No disrespect to Mellencamp - but we were there for Fogerty! Having Mellencamp on the card was a bonus and the two songs John and John performed together were a rare treat but, I digress again. I love live concerts or live recordings of concerts (some of my favourite albums are Neil Diamond's Hot August Night, the Guess Who Live, Lighthouse Live, Harry Chapin Live, CCR The Concert, and Premonition, to name a few) and The Long Road Home didn't disappoint me. It has 26 tracks of live hardcore Fogerty tunes from classic CCR to newer original Fogerty compilations. I loved the 'Premonition' video performed before a select audience on a soundstage in L.A. in 1997 (it sounded studio perfect) but 'The Long Road Home' DVD recorded Sept. 15/05 at the Wiltern Theatre in L.A. has more of the raw, live feeling to it, with a better sense of Fogerty the man, the voice, the guitar! "Two thumbs up, way up!" as they say. I've followed Fogerty through all of his trials and tribulations with the old Fantasy record label for over thirty + years now and with all of that fussin' & a fightin' apparently behind him, Fogerty on video appears happier than ever and it's a sheer joy watching him enjoy performing his own music once again! Catch John again this summer '06 on tour in the U.S. with another legend, Willie Nelson along with the "best drummer in the universe" - the unbeatable Kenny Aronoff. I can't wait 'til August!

Great concert. Fogerty is high energy and at his best. His band is excellent and tight. Great musicianship all around. If you like good ole guitar-driven rock 'n roll with a tinge of country, you'll like this.

This is one amazing DVD, GREAT sound, GREAT camera work and Fogerty sounds as amazing as ever! I have had the privilege of seeing John in concert several times and he never fails to deliver just as this DVD delivers exactly what you would expect from a John Fogerty concert. What I have always loved about John is, with him you get no bull, just good ole Rock 'N' ROLL.If you are trying to decide on which DVD of John to buy, this is it, you will definitely NOT be disappointed, it is easily right at the top of my list as far as quality is concerned and that says a lot because I have well over 100 concert DVD's in my collection. Buy this DVD, sit back and enjoy and let John take you back! PEACE everyone!

John Fogerty - an amazing musician/song writer. This is some of his best stuff. I enjoyed the DVD and the cd. We are going to hear his concert this week in fact. Would recommend this to any CCR fans. Not heavy listening - nice to relax to and dance to as well. Worth the money.
